Being British I am no expert on hotdogs but I happily polished off one. The van was parked up near the Peterson museum when I went to visit and made the ideal lunch. Tasted good and want expensive. My only criticism was that there was...more onion than there needed to be but it's my preference.More

There's a lot said deriding fast food and American fast food in particular. But there's one place where it all just comes together with a sense an authenticity that's all-American, and these sole-traders and their mobile kitchens (trucks) are where that happens. Every time I...write a review high on the list after food and ambience is what did I think of the service culture. Some establishments get it just right. It's surprising when and where it happens. Sure some of those rare two star Michelin restaurants get the service thing right... and some don't! Some highly formulaic chains sometimes get it right and most don't!. But I never really expect it from these kitchens-on-wheels, where my first thought is more likely which BSE-ridden farm has the meat come from and how many e-coli are clinging to the pans and wrinkled formica surfaces. But the guys that pitch up in these trucks have an unassuming charm that's genuine and hence brings you back. Dogtown Dogs is one of those genuine mobile kitchens with classic American fast food that gives a damn. The hot dogs are cooked with care and the bloke in his elevated cabin is engaged enough to want your on-going custom.More
