The Hamburger Hamlet in my neighborhood was my go-to place in high school. The food was innovative and fun. But that was almost 40 years ago. My friend and I have visited this Hamlet twice and our overwhelming impression of it is that it is tired. That's sad, because it was a great chain. We started at the bar, waiting... More

We have visited HH in the past as family lives close by. The prices on the on-line menu were 50% less than when we arrived at restaurant. We had called in for take out. What a surprise to see a 50% increase in prices. Hamburgers were med rare and we ordered medium well. Will not return.

Stopped in to have a burger, but decided to go with the lobster bisque and a half chicken salad sandwich instead. I really wasn't impressed with either. My friend got a burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. The tables seemed sticky and overall the place just felt a bit dirty. I wouldn't make it a point to stop by when I'm... More

It was better than average, in fact, they had exactly what we wanted. Decent food, reasonable prices and quick service. Most of us had burgers, they were good. The parking is a bit odd as the so-called lot behind the restaurant where you are supposed to be able to park for free apparently charges now--you won't get your $5 refunded.... More

These are great restaurants, the food is really good, the drinks are reasonable with decent amounts of pouring. Friendly staff, prompt service, TV's and good atmosphere make this a great lunch, dinner stop.

We enjoyed their happy hour and at the time (not sure currently) it was running 7 days per week. Lobster Bisque was an odd item to see on a happy hour menu ($7) but the small bowlful was delicious. Sliders were good too and and pleasant bartender made a great rocks Margarita. The bar area is too small for a... More

Have eaten at Hamburger Hamlets weekly (when they were owned by the original company) since the 1970s. The reason they closed in the first place was because the quality of food had gone down -along with the selection on the menu and the service. The "Original" menu had over 40 kinds of hamburgers that dwindled to about 7 before they... More

Such a great place! Old Hollywood Ambience with fantastic food! Everything is good! But my favorite of the whole place is the Lobster Bisque!! Love the Bisque. Love the Bisque. Love the Bisque. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. (The second time we came in the waitress remembered us - like that!) Love the Bisque!

Comfortable seating, delicious food, reasonable pricing and parking in the back. Still has classic menu from the 60's. Best tuna melt in town. Still serving the "Stella" - half sandwich, salad and soup. Sour cream hash browns now served as an appetizer were decadent. Will chop any salad. Cobb was delicious. Waiter very friendly and did not rush us. Full... More

We wish to welcome you to The Hamburger Hamlet!

Like many of us who grew up in Los Angeles, The Hamburger Hamlet played a significant role in our friends and families lives. From dinner in Westwood before seeing a movie, to Sunday Brunch in Brentwood, The Hamburger Hamlet was always a home away from home known for simply marvelous food & drink.

Our memories include watching a very dapper man named Harry Lewis go table to table greeting his guests or seeing Marilyn Lewis working with the staff and attending to the guests needs. Still fresh in our memories is our favorite burger paired with a Haagen-Dazs shake, the famous lobster bisque and the apricot chicken wings.

So inspired by what The Hamburger Hamlet represented, that when we had the opportunity to take over such a historic brand, we could not resist the chance to bring it back to the proud tradition and foundation created by your former hosts, Harry and Marilyn Lewis and pay our respects to what they achieved.

Welcome back!

Your Hosts Kevin Michaels and Brett Doherty
