Our first time trying any Omasake dinner & it didn’t disappoint! It was worthy of our 1st year anniversary dinner. Being served by Chef Hiro felt like we were private guests in his home. The freshness & quality is beyond description. This is an absolute must try for any sushi lover. You can thank me later!

It's omasake style and they were accommodating with my seashell allergies. It has very good quality of the fish especially toro tuna. The service was also great and sake delicious . I recommend it but just be aware it is pricy but it's worth it.

While visiting Los Angeles my friend and I visited Sushi Q on a whim.
The reviews are few and it was quite a walk from our hotel but it was more than worth it.
The shop is quite small and outdated but even at 8pm on a Monday night it was busy with a steady turn over of locals.
We ordered the chicken bowl with rice, edamame beans and an avocado sushi roll.
The servings are ample, everything is made fresh and for $20 including 2 drinks you can't complain!
The man who served us was lovely as well.
It is worth noting that there aren't many vegetarian options listed on the menu as far as sushi rolls go but if you ask they'll be more than happy to whip one up for you as they did for me.
Thoroughly recommended!

As i knew I was going to be in Los Angeles, I looked for a Sushi place, which are famous on the city by their level an quality. Omakase was included in my decision. So based in the recommendation, DTLA location, and description, I decided to try Q. I must admit sushi quality was superb: every single plate was very good. But they fell short from the promise to make you feel like being in Tokyo. And they miss the mark by a mile. First, the welcome was cold, although I was there 15 minutes before the hour as requested (door was closed as ut was 5:45 pm). I was showed my place, and we started the omakase. The Cheff courtesly asked for any alergy and we began. It was good, but as I wanted to really taste the natural flavor, I asked for Matcha and hot water. The waitress did say did no had any. Did not offer for a substitution. I asked for green tee. She said yes, but seemed not happy for me not ordering alcohol. A couple arrived late, so Omakase paces was altered. Everything was delicious, but I felt it souless: not a single effort to make it memorable, or to offer a complete experience, not by the cheff, nor the waitress. I expected something like Juniko, but not at all. A real deception.

I'm working for the next few weeks nearby and was craving sushi. I've seen this place a few times while in the same strip mall for other things. Then I looked on Yelp for a nearby sushi place and this place got rave reviews.
You go to the cashier and order from there. The staff is insanely friendly. Unfortunately, they have no yellowtail, my favorite, but no big deal. I got some tuna rolls and a soft shell crab appetizer.
Even if the rice was less than average, I'd forgive them for the price, but the rice used in the rolls was quite good. And the order size also was nice. I spent 20 bucks for lunch, but you can spend less. I ended up taking half of the food back to my office.
Good to know this place is here as I'm sure I'll be here a few more times before this gig ends.

Excellent sushi experience at Sushi Q. This is a fixed course menu of a wide variety of sushi fish sourced from all over the globe. Presentation and preparation are very good. Sushi chef was engaging and educated us in the fish origin as well as the preparation. One of the most delicous and very best sushi meals I have ever had. Definitely going back.
