We were told about this place by the owner of the local AirBNB place we stayed at in Hollywood. Good job too, as we would never have spotted it otherwise. The place is amazing inside - a real Gothic look to it, quite unlike anywhere else I've ever been. It's split up into two halves - the restaurant and the... More

The outside of this restaurant is very deceiving, by which I mean the outside looks a bit on the rough side. But once inside you get to see the elaborate decor that makes you feel like you've been transported to somewhere else. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. I found this restaurant by chance and I'm glad... More

I have been here 2-3 times now, on my recent LA trips. What I LOVE about this place is the atmosphere, the low lighting and dark interior design - completed with amazing artwork and heavy velvet curtains. The menu is incredible, even though I have only tried the soup, the rest of the menu also looked heavenly. The cocktail menu,... More

Low key lighting, great drinks and menu items. Perfect place to bring a date! The ambiance and decor is wonderful with Mexican wrestlers, Day of the Dead and some neon lights inside.

We did not eat here. We just had drinks at the bar. Believe me , the drinks are fantastic. The bartender was friendly and the atmosphere is definitely Velvet Margarita. You will enjoy...but they do not open early.

I never knew this existed until a friend took me there. The darkly lit, funky cool decor and fun vibe make me want to go back again. We went on a Friday night without any reservations and we were seated within 10-15 minutes. Yummy Salmon.

Visited the Velvet Margarita with a party of 12. The place is obviously very trendy and immensely popular. My first impression was how dark it was inside. My eyesight isn't great and the the low lighting combined with the gothic font on the menu made choosing harder than I'd hoped. It was also incredibly noisy. Anyway the waiter was very... More

Everything was decorated very hip. Great atmosphere. Fabulus food. It was a little too dark inside. Great bar too.

This place was awesome. I enjoyed fresh margaritas at the bar with a friendly, cool bartender. Awesome ambiance. Great chips with several dip options. It was a great random find in LA. Check it out if you're just looking for a cool place to chill and have a couple drinks.
