I've been eating at Chan Dara forever - no, really, forever. It was always excellent -- great service, delicious food, just fantastic. Went there last weekend -... What happened? New management? The service was terrible and the food came out cold and not great. It's always been a favorite spot of mine. I could tell it wasn't just an off... More

The Panang was some of the best tofu we ever had. Was going to give a glowing review until I realized that we ordered before the end if lunch special and was charged dinner prices. I recommend it, but pay attention to your bill.

Chan Dara was once the best and hippest Thai restaurant in LA. Those days are long past. The decor is tired but the place is clean. The music they play is awful--fit for an elevator. The food is a mixed bag. Tasteless satay and gyoza that was served at room temperature. The main course we had, sea bass, was good.... More

Absolutely delicious thai food. The tofu satay and green curry are particular highlights. The service was also great. I will recommend and revisit.

The flavors here are subtle and delicate. Try the brown rice - nutty and delicious. The staff are really helpful and friendly. Will return and recommend.

Had a very nice Valentine's Day dinner at Chan Dara on Pico. It was crowded and the service was slow but the food was delicious. Really good spicy soups, veggie and tofu was light and tasty. Nice evening!

Another of my dad's favorites. He left a file of cards of restaurants, and I am determined to get to all of them. We had the calamari- a bit too greasy for me, the sauce was awesome! We wanted 2 other things, and our waitress actually had the kitchen combine the 2, and the result was fabulous! Glass noodles, mushrooms... More

After 30+ years, this is still a good place, but I miss the original Cahuenga location. My wife says that it wasn't as good and was twice as expensive as where we normally go in OC. But that's all she knows. Chan Dara was the pioneer of Thai food in LA and worth a visit.

I am a regular customer here but never write a review for Chan Dara. I usually go to Pico brunch and sometimes at Larchmont. My favorite food is Mee krob, Thai crab cake and Satay. Mostly is appetizer i order. And they have a very very delicious crem buree too.
