We was staying at a hotel nearby and decided to give this a try . The experience from start to finish was terrible . We had to wait 10 mins before anyone even acknowledged us and came to serve . Our appetisers then came and we had been given no cutlery. It took an age to get someone to bring... More

Ordered snails, followed by filet mignon for my main course. Both were gorgeous. Certainly didn't regret the hour long Uber ride to Hollywood after eating at La Poubelle. Delicious!

The restaurant is nicely decorated and the food is really good (we had the confit de canard and the boeuf bourguignon) but unfortunately there was not nearly enough to eat! It's a shame, especially when the food is this good!

We were staying in this neighbourhood which is awesome by the way and were told about this restaurant. Is it being from Montreal and having lived in Paris that made me harsh in my appreciation of this place? Or was the timing poor...we were there at the very beginning of the new year... It took three tries to get a... More

I really liked this place! It’s just what you want in a warm, easy neighborhood bistro. No frou-frou, all joie de vivre! The comfort menu is a smile inducing cliché of every old standard you would ever want—from escargots, coq au vin and steak-frites to mousse au chocolat. If you need minceur, nitrogen or sous vide, you’re in the wrong... More

Tradition French Bistro in L.A. the ambiance of the restaurant is very welcoming and laid back. The food was very tasty especially the crispy Brussel Sprout leaves - veg that most people don't like is made lovable at LaPoubelle. It was so tasty, we had 2 orders! The Confit de Canard made me happy and the simple Pain et beurre... More

I went as a guest of two newly-weds who frequent La Poubelle and, for me, it was a glamorous occasion. The restaurant appears to be mostly lit by candlelight. I removed my glasses: as I do in a movie house, when the screen is up. My eyes slowly adjusted, and I was able to recognise an interior as familiar as... More

For steaks, drinks, or to try out some of the classic french bistro food in a romantically lit Hollywood, check out La Poubelle. There are some great drink options here and the meals are accurate to actual french restaurants, as you'd expect. The Coq au vin was absolutely delicious. The meal was expensive by my standards, but...treating family, so we... More

Went here for a drink with friend so didn't try the food. The beer selection was quite nice and the waiter recommended some good one. The place was not really full but still quite lively.

Very noisy if you can't get a table outside. However the food tasted very good and was well prepared.
