It was technically after noon, but we were handed what looked (mostly) like a breakfast menu - although it did have a burger and some kind of pasta listed. Fine, we went with it, since we'd just been doing a bit of wandering around Hollywood on a whim (Metrolink from Riverside to Union Station and Redline to Hollywood and Vine... More

I have eaten here many times and it's always been good. But I have to be honest we ate there yesterday with friends and our chicken dish were very dried out. We had the Chicken Marsala and the Pecan Crusted Chicken and both were over cooked and hardly any sauce on them. We should have sent them back but we... More

We were looking for a nice, romantic dinner for our last night in LA. We found it! This lovely craftsman house has great seating inside, but we opted for the front porch and its shade. Food was tremendous. The Off Vine salad had pecans and blue cheese, yum. We also had blackened shrimp with a mango dipping sauce…hot and cold,... More

It's not uncommon in LA to find 100 yr old houses that have been saved from demolition and turned into a business smack in the middle of urban jungle. That is Off Vine - a cute, if maybe a little run down craftsman with tables squished in the old living room and sprawling out into what would have been a... More

It was a friend's birthday and there we were at this little cottage,Off Vine. It was burned in a fire two years ago so was closed. It was comfortable after it was reopened and had a full menu of wine and spirits. The staff was so helpful. They had saved us a round table for 8 people. The service was great... More

Before my trip to LA I looked on Tripadvisor for good restaurants. I was impressed by Off Vine's reviews and I was not disappointed! Went there for dinner and ordered the Sautéed Salmon, it was good! Enjoyed the crème brulee very much.. I think even the best I ever had! Definitely would recommend this restaurant, especially for a romantic dinner.

Ate here last night after going to the Pantages Theatre. It is only a short walk from the theatre. The food was excellent and the staff very attentive. It is located in a house that has been converted to a restaurant which makes it cozy and intimate. Suggest reservations since the seating is limited. They do have a lovely, flowered... More

Off Vine has always been my go to restaurant when I'm in Hollywood. Not anymore. Four of us went there for an anniversary celebration before the theater. My husband sent an email the day before telling them about our special anniversary. When we got to the restaurant I told the host and the server about our special anniversary. During coffee... More

I have been coming here since 'before their fire'. It's always been a comfortable, casual place with pretty good home cookin'. One aspect which I do NOT have a problem with, is that the service can be slow. This is very often because they have just one waitperson during lunch and one or two more during dinner. So if you're... More

The young waitress that served us provided some of the best service that I have ever received. Most impressive. We were a table of 6. The food came out in good time and was all delicious. I strongly recommend the turkey meatloaf and the banana cream pie - neither of which I had ever had before. They also do soufflés... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
