Elegant, not too noisy, and superb service. The dining is very fine and does not consist of over complicated and exotic combinations. I particularly enjoyed their steak. Price reflects the quality, but is well worth it.

The evening started with a warm welcome when we entered, and just got better from there. Unlike most LA eateries, the staff is capable and professional, there isn't pounding music inhibiting conversation, and zero pretension. Cocktails are generously sized and well-crafted. Our appetizer of tempura squash blossoms stuffed with shrimp and mushrooms was excellent. Porterhouse-style veal chop was tender and... More

Sunday evening early dinner ... 630 reservation time and we walked into a restaurant about 60% full which led me to believe I was in for a treat. Our server was a very pleasant young women who was attentive but not overwhelming ... the disappointment was in the food. One filet and one rib eye ... while the temperatures were... More

I had the pleasure of dining at Jar recently and still is one of the most consistent meals you can get in LA. from the old standards like Pot Roast to the seasonal offerings they excel in execution and craftsmanship in the taking the products they cook with and elevate them to something extraordinary. The dishes seem simple but when... More

Fantastic meal. Pot roast was exceptional. Tomato and onion salad exceptional. Chef was very accommodating re my husbands salad. Vibrant and busy! Recommend reservation. Do not miss out on the pot roast, you will not be disappointed!

The steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Both the prime filet and the prime ribeye were fantastic. The purple yams were amazing, as were the crab devilled eggs and the apricot salad. The pea tendrils were good and the butterscotch pudding dessert was deliciously decadent. The only disappointment were the cocktails. Considering the price and caliber of restaurant, I would... The fried chicken, mashed potatoes and coleslaw followed by a biscuit were awesome! Sat at the bar and the staff was great. Loved it...will be back! i love the atmosphere... More

As with other reviewers, I enjoyed the food, but it is not a Wow experience. Good food. Too expensive for what you get. It is a bit confusing, because there is nothing wrong with the food at all. It's worth checking out.

Jar is one of my favorite LA restaurants. There isn't a clinker on the menu. Love their porkchop and pot roast. Fish is always fresh and delicious. Their sides are really yummy... Creamed spinach is my favorite. They have a great wine list and their specialty cocktails are great. Leave room for the decadent deserts! And while you dine, look... More

Oddly boring experience. The main dining room feels like a comfortable cafeteria, open, noisy, and crowded, with nothing much to look at. One highlight for our group was the chairs, which had rollers on their feet. Very convenient when you are two inches from the next table and need to get up to visit the restroom. The food is fine,...
