The Palm is a famous, long-time Los Angeles restaurant, noted for it's large portions of meat and lobster. We went for lunch, and I was disappointed, having been here for dinner about 12 months prior. My wife and I split a shaved steak sandwich, with was tender and juicy, but nothing special at $16, and a Gigi salad, meant to... More

Wish I could give 4.5 stars. You gotta want steak and other specialties to go to the Palm. It's not for everyone. I miss the old location with all of the movie star photos on the walls cuz it was more casual. The new place on Canon in BevHills is good but modern and seems to be missing some of... More

The service, the food, the price was so very good. The rib eye steak melts in your mouth and always comes out perfect. Yes it's a bit pricey, but it is worth every penny.

Went for lunch with family after my nephew's graduation. Good service and food was serviced quickly. You could run into almost anyone. We saw a few Hollywood stars.

I went here the other night. I have no complaints. Started with salads that were good. Calamari was good but nothing amazing. We had a strip steak that was very very thick. Three people shared it. Steak was cooked perfect. It was very tender and had lots of flavor. It wasn't busy the night we were there. Our service was... More

This new location still has the warmth of the old one. Food, service and congeniality are still present. Very special place

Dinner at The Palm and watch the Finals of the NCAA -- good idea right? I encountered the worse steak in recent memory. I went to order the 9 ounce Filet but they were out, so I ordered the 14 ounce butter flied. (I know this is not recommended, but I did not want the larger filet so I was... More

Have eaten here numerous times since they opened. At first, it was fine, then, inconsistent and then last night was likely our last dinner there. The Caesar salad was half croutons and gushy with too much dressing. The fish arrived cool and undercooked and had to go back. The usually excellent sautéed green beans were sloppy with extra oil. What... More

The regulars seem to get all the attention, but new customers could also be important. I have eaten at the Palm on Santa Monica for years when visiting LA. I went looking for it last night and was directed to the new location on Canon. The new place lacks the character and warmth of the Santa Monica location and of... More

The Palm used to be one of my favorite LA Restaurants. Last Saturday Night my family had an 8:00 reservation, to my surprise we sat right Down, as the restaurant was not very busy ( I understand why ) As a creature of habit I ordered all the dishes that in the past I had enjoyed. The table was happy... More

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
