We enjoyed a delicious dinner before a play in Westwood. Service was excellent. The yellowtail was sweet. Spicy tuna on crispy rice cakes was especially good. Plenty of time for dinner before a 7:00 curtain at the Geffen Theatre in Westwood.

Japanese sushi prepared by japanese sushi masters and served by japanese waiters. Not in Japan but in Los Angeles. The fish was really outstanding and the people very friendly. Highly recommended, even if it's not cheap.

Sushi masu is my favorite sushi spot. Chef Masu prepares consistently tasty dishes with a friendly and playful attitude. Service is consistently good. Hot dishes are also available.

I already went three days in a row to have lunch because they have Toro (Fatty tuna) which is quite rare to find. All their food is very fresh and tasty. I also enjoyed the Salmon Skin hand roll, and the Uni sushi. The restaurant is in near Westwood, it is not pretentious and everyone is very friendly.

Neighborhood sushi place just at the edge of Westwood. Definitely choose to sit at the sushi bar -- conversation with sushi maker can be interesting -- very worldly! Knowledgeable about varieties of fish. Fish seems extremely fresh -- nice selection. Again no choice on the wine, but the white is surely good. Possible that this neighborhood sushi bar is not... Sushi Masu is not the worst sushi restaurant that I have visited. It's the second worst, and I've been to a lot of them (probably several hundred across the U.S). Many have complained about their subpar service, so I won't dwell on that beyond compaining about our sticky table. It's simply not that difficult to properly wipe down a table.... More

Sushi Masu is a great place for sushi, but not exactly the place for an intimate tete-a-tete with a loved one. The omakase is undoubtedly the best thing to have - Masu san has a tendency to steer you clear of anything that is not the very, very best! When a colleague and I went last week, the uni (sea... Small sushi bar with personal service. The owner/chef does a wonderful job of treating every customer like a regular. It is truly a wonderful experience to dine here. Recommend that you call for reservations on week ends.
