About
This is a Kosher Iranian and Chinese Restaurant. Established in 1990. We have been in business over Twenty Eight years. Kolah Farangi was the first full service Kosher restaurant opened on Pico and Robertson Blvd in Los Angeles. Many other Kosher restaurants opened in the last twenty eight years in the same area and we hope that we have something to do with that. Serving Iranian and Chinese food, Kolah Farangi is still one of the top Kosher restaurant in the area. Kolah Farangi is Glatt Kosher with OU certification.

The service IS NOT good. The waiters think they do everyone a favor to work there, the ambient is nice and surrounding looks beautiful and clean.

Kolah Farangi is suffering from fatigue. The food used to be unique and overall quality was superb. The owner and management have become complacent.

Forget about the quality of the food and the poor service at this restaurant- we have been going there for 30 years as a family, but today this restaurant has hit a new low and the owners have NO RIGHT to be in the restaurant business. Or any kind of service industry. They are beyond disgusting and rude to their guest. I am an extreme foodie, I have traveled the world and eaten in some of the worlds best restaurants- from both a service and quality of food standpoint, not to mention almost every decent kosher restaurant across the globe, from the US, Europe and Asia. Today was the first time in my life (across thousands of restaurants) that I have been abused, screamed at, and yelled at by the owner of a restaurant, who pulled me into his private office to scream at me because I asked to speak to him to question the 20% service charge that was added to my check. This is the same owner who made me pack my own to go boxes, and was rude from moment we sat down- who refused to take our order or even get me a fork when my meal came, telling me to ask the waiter. I have never been treated so badly or could have imagined a restaurant could treat somebody this badly. I should also mention the check was $300 and there were 5 of us! So it's not as if we were being cheap, we ordered graciously. Well done to the owners of this restaurant- you deserve a medal treating your customers like this.

Food ok. Had much better Persian food elsewhere by far. The service is slow and disorganized The restaurant is not clean and bathrooms are digesting which says a lot about the cleanliness of a restaurant and its staff. Don't bother going to this place

I really enjoyed my lunch here. A Chinese dish I remembered form 15 years ago when I lived in LA, the tomato beef, is no longer on the menu, so I asked if they could still make it and they said yes... it was great. You don't see tomato beef at many (any?) Chinese restaurants but this one is sooooo good, like very tender bits of beef in a gooey tomato sauce with chunks of tomato and sliced onion. Ask for the off-menu tomato beef, and tell them David sent you. (Service was prompt and courteous too, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable.)

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. I come here often and love the varieties on the menu. My favorite is the Barg London Broil. The portions are large and the meat is done perfectly. Great rice too. The staff is wonderful and they make you feel at home. I recommend Kolah Farangi with five stars.

Great chinese takeout or dine in restaurant. Service seems a bit slow, but the food is great! Seating and decor is a bit dated.

I am a regular visitor to LA and I have been coming here twice a year for the last 12 years. What used to be the highlight of my trip has now become a disappointment and the restaurant is living off its legacy as the go to kosher persian restaurant it had in the past. The whole place needs a rethink from decor to the quality of food it is producing. On a positive note the tea is good .
