Every time I go to Baco I get an original Baco (chefs signature sandwich) lots of sauce, lots of meat. In addition, I always try to order a few of the sides, which are always changing. Interesting flavor combos, usually a lot of vegetarian options. The atmosphere is more of happening bar, than elegant restaurant. All the tables and bar... More

In downtowns old banking district, stuff happens. Here you can eat Bäco, a cross between a taco, pizza and gyro. Other dishes balancing on a thin line between Mexico and the Mediterranean.A nice tavern visit with good service

Everyone has a different conception of what makes for a pleasant dining experience. This restaurant is geared to the 20/30 year old set with piped in music adding to the din and a unique menu that may not be as appealing to an older clientele. We had carmelized cauliflower (fairly good but overcooked for us), brussels sprout Caesar salad served... More

I live in DTLA and this is one of my favorite spots. They have great beers, one of my favorites they carry is from Norway. And, although I am neither a vegetarian nor a vegan, Baco has the best vegetable dishes in LA. They have a shaved brussel sprouts dish that to me was a revelation of how good brussel... More

My son-in-law selected Boca Mercat for lunch. The Oxtail Boca with horseradish yogurt was delicious but at $17 is a little pricey. The $4 add on for a salad was very good with greens, cucumber, apple and cherry tomatoes. The pulled pork boca at $15 was dry and crusty and not worth finishing. The children's pizza for $10 had lots... More

Delicious dinner. We started with veggies and they were so good they became our meal. Brussels sprouts, cauliflower and beets. Delicious!?

When we booked Baco Mercat, we thought it was kind of a souped up Tapas bar. But it's really so much more. Small plates are really the focus, and if you are a carnivore or vegetarian, you will both be very happy with the unique flavors. By day, Bacos (aka Sandwiches) fill out the menu, and the El Pesco with... More

Lots of choices here! We ordered so many dishes! The choices were phenomenal. I ordered eggplant and okra, but others ordered cauliflower, beets, mussels and pork. Everyone had a lovely time. High stools might be a challenge for some and the quarters are quite tight, but the atmosphere is lively and fun. The servers are awesome. Would definitely take friends... More

This place had good food which was pretty quick and there was plenty of it for the price. I loved the simplicity of the menu and the unique food options.

Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
