I stopped in here today to get caffeinated after a very early flight from NYC. The place has a very industrial, skater vibe- very Venice, very cool. The menu is not large but covers all the basics for a cafe, plus a few unique tea options. I ordered a latte with almond milk and it was perfect. It was just... More

Great coffee. First time here as biked there from Santa Monica with family as a friend told us we should shop in Abbot Kinney and have coffee at Intelligentsia. Was not disappointed and staff were great even though I totally missed service area and went straight to pick up as was taking in the design of the place.

Nice and strong cap - they also have soya milk. Really chilled atmosphere. Friendly staff. We were a bit jet lagged but felt better after the visit.

Perfect coffee and cool atmosphere. Great selection of coffee beans on sale. I was tasting Brazilian brew and my partner ice latte they were both perfectly made. Unfortunately free wifi keeps people seated :( at their home offices?

Here, coffee drinking is a trip in itself.Hardly an obvious choice if you just want a cup of coffee..Coffees you've never heard of and barrister who guides you through the amazing selection.Just wish the L.A water would be of higher class in order to get to the ultimate coffee offer.

Always a line here, but worth the wait They are doing some construction on the outside Yummy, their almond capuccino is the best because it's very rich and full medium bodied- their froth is perfect!!!

There's not a lot to say about intelligentsia coffee. It's really great coffee with incredibly flavor. The baristas here do a great job of making lattes and high quality almond milk was used. My only gripe about this location is the set up with taking orders, coffees being made, and paying. The area where you take your order is directly... More

Barmen dancing behind coffee machines make this place incredible. The coffee is brewed manually, the cappuccino looks fabulous (this comes from an Italian), pastries are really good. The best place to have a coffee in all LA county

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
