We found Venice beach in general very intense and different haha, although a great experience. But Larrys was just a bit off the main boardwalk so nice and quiet. Very good pizza and fries but it was big! 1 between 2 ! Nice cider and lovely, friendly staff. Would return.

We were pleasantly surprised to have a delicious meal in Larry's. It looks a bit tired from the outside and a bit basic but the starters were delicious, some of the best we had had during our Californian tour! Then it was open mic night (Wed) - free entertainment that was fun!! Recommend for anyone in the area.

We stopped here feeling hot and thirsty after walking from Santa Monica. The place looked interesting and inviting, and best of all it was where we needed it to be, when we needed it to be there. So we sat at the bar, discovered quite a wonderful wine list, and enjoyed a light snack with a couple of glasses of... More

It is a really chill, semi outdoor bar. It's conveniently located right near Venice Beach. My friends and I ordered a vartiety of food and everyone was happy with their order. I must say I did not like the pizza at all. It was much too salty, but I should know better than to try pizza out of New York.... More

Took a chance on this place having just got into town. Most of the other food outlets on the beach are take out so it was a pleasant surprise to stumble on Larry's at happy hour. My sangria wasn't very authentic but the deal was also on food. My kale salad was AMAZING and the pizza and burgers got the... More

They were able to seat nine of us for a Saturday lunch! Our order was accurate. The server and staff kept our waters filled; much appreciated on a hot, muggy day. The beer selection was pleasing. The food was nicely prepared and presented. Everything got eaten; rare for a large group with differing tastes.

My friends and I stopped in Larry's for a quick lunch and a few drinks while we were on Venice Beach. The atmosphere was pretty laid back and the decor was interesting: there are fashion hats along the top of the bar which are pretty cool. The fish tacos were tasty and the margarita was nice and refreshing on a... More

Very disappointed with this dinner experience. The greeting by the host was surely at best, hostile at worst. On her cell phone when we walked in, sitting on a chair with legs crossed. Looked up after a while, then grunted to follow her when asked for a table for two, flounced off and dropped the menus on the table. No... More

Wasn't impressed with the friendliness level during either visit over the past couple years. I tried it on two different trips. The staff seemed a little 'unconcerned' both times and for the price, the food was good, but I'm not impressed.

There aren't a lot of good restaurants close to the boardwalk. We found Larry's and had our lunch there. Their salads and the lamb burger were okay. Nothing to brag about it.Service was friendly and welcoming. If you like good restaurants, try Abbot Kinney restaurants

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
