There was a nice vibe and our waitress was really polite but the food was mostly disappointing. The cuisine is a Mex-Spanish-Asian fusion. Almost everything is spicy. I liked the duck dish and i loved the chocolate dessert.

I took a friend for birthday brunch. The meal was delicious (the blue corn muffins are a must) and our server was delightful and attentive. Will absolutely go back again... and again

Very tasty, but mostly 1 to 2 bites when shared with one other. Shrimp ceviche cone & chili rellenos were good, but so spicy as to require large volumes of water. Filet mignon with mushrooms was a tad larger portion & kale was delightful.

Playa is a great place to go with friends to share small interesting plates. They have a lively bar with many interesting concoctions. I opted for a kind of a "surprise drink": you tell your server what kinds of drinks you like, and they prepare...More

I was pleased as punch to follow a recommendation from my Wallpaper* guide and end up at this stylish Latin-American and Indian-influenced restaurant. I mean: WHAT? This kind of crazy cultural fusion was what I was looking for, an experience I couldn't get in another...More

Fantastic! I'm usually so disappointed with restaurants in Hollywood. This was DELICIOUS! My friend is a bartender there, so we went for brunch just to hang out with him. I was so pleasantly surprised. The food was so innovative and the brunch cocktails were made...More

Come for the drinks, extraordinary selection of booze and inventive bartenders. As for the food, bring a microscope and a wad of cash, that's what they call tapas. "Indian butter is what they call guacamole, and it goes from there.

I've had dinner a few times at Playa and always enjoyed it. I recently had the opportunity to try it for brunch. It's more-or-less your traditional brunch but with a spicy latin twist. The room is terrific looking and on a beautiful Sunday they had...More

Playa is more than a "Beach". It represents the open air, laid-back, coastal lifestyle that is Los Angeles. Playa expresses a relaxed, urban latin vibe, as envisioned by Chef/Owner John Rivera Sedlar and the creative team who have turned his vision into a restaurant reality.
