My co-worker who lives in Los Angeles brought me here for dinner because of the view. The outside seating is several feet long. It has a glass front which blocks out the sea breeze. You can walk down to the beach by the entrance of the restaurant. The beach was not clean and although there was a sign prohibiting dogs,... More

Salmon was very good but a bit pricey given the portion and sides served. Good service, friendly people.

back to this restaurant after about 10 years I found the same beautiful atmosphere and location just in front of the sea. The fisherman soup I had was good and generous but pprices are quite high. Payment parking outside.

I went there 20 years ago and the food was good and the view even better. The restaurant sits on the ocean down the street from the Getty Villa (maybe a 5 minute drive?)and you can sit inside or out under an umbrella in their patio which is lined with glass making it perfect for those windy and cool days.... Mostly a touristy spot. If you are in the neighborhood and want a drink with a view along with some appetizers it's not a bad spot. Just not very unique aside from the view and the bad parking.

With a killer spot on the beach near Getty Villas, you could have mediocre food and probably do OK. However, they put a variety of good items on the menu to go with the view. Baja tacos were good, as were various sides we tried (corn on the cob, sauteed greens, Mac n cheese). Late luch will help avoid the... More

Amazing atmosphere, right on the beach with the ocean breeze! We live in another state or I would eat here more often but for us this is a must everytime we are in our around Malibu! Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Always busy with a lot of energy! They are on Opentable and would suggest making a reservation... More

Come for the view, stay for the good food. Been going here for years whenever near Malibu. The food is tasty and priced pretty decent for the location-which is right on the beach (part of the beach that's not crowded in tourists too!). Staff is great. I suggest getting a reservation as it's easy online to do and then no... More

Smooth relaxing enjoyable experience: Parking attendants, hostess accommodating time and table choice, alert compassionate waiter Angel, good food, attractive food presentation, delicious cake, creative foiled takeouts, and lovely weather at the beach included dolphin sighting, cool water, and caught the moon over the ocean =D

The view here is absolutely phenomenal: the beach is right below. The sourdough bread is warm and delicious. I had the tuna tartare which was good however I have had much better. Servers were friendly however not very attentive. It was worth the view though.

Description
In a world where landmarks are few and far between there is Gladstones. Situated where Sunset Boulevard meets the Pacific Coast Highway, it's become a place of Southern California legend. Gladstones offers a menu plucked from the very ocean it overlooks, serving modern renditions of classic dishes. In its typically relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, there's something to satisfy every palate. Whether you're at the raw bar, the lounge, the dining rooms or the grand patio over-looking the surf, it's commonly agreed there's no better place, either up the coast or down, to enjoy fresh seafood, a Mai Tai or a sunset. Over the last 40 years Gladstones has become a South California landmark. One visit and you'll see why.
