Went to a Matinee at the Pantages. Parked @ Redbury Hotel (Cleo is inside Hotel). A bit of a gap between arrival for dinner and opening - so had a drink & snack upstair at the Library - hit happy hour - perfect timing. Dinner was great - service is fantastic - server made excellent recommendations. Another plus - 15%... More

The food is simply fantastic and sophisticated. The only downside of the place is that it can be a bit noisy. Do not miss the shawarma

I have now been to this restaurant twice on two trips to a LA show. Great location, cool hotel, best fresh bread & food in this area. Many small plates with lots of flavor.

We were staying in The Redbury and were wiped after a day of driving and sightseeing. Cleo was perfect for what we wanted - the food was fantastic and the drinks were really good. We shared a selection of mezze plus a tagine and a few drinks and found the bill to be very reasonable. It was busy on a... More

The decor is opulent, yet sophisticated and youthful. The food is truly spectacular, with some of the most creative yet comforting mediterranean cuisine we have ever encountered. Service generally was quite good too. Strong recommend.

This is a nice place for dinner before theater at the Pantages. You can park here, eat quickly and get to the theater on time. The food is good, not great. There are lots of choices. I would not come here specially, but the convenience makes it a very viable (and relatively reasonable) choice.

Many places in Hollywood are simply overrated and woefully overpriced. Not so Cleo. Tucked away in the Redbury otel just off Hollywood and Vine, if you didnt know it was there, you wouldnt find it. And that would be too bad. Choose cocktail from a great list, or have a standby favoriyt like a Rye Old Fashioned, with several excellent... More

I love restaurants where you get multiple small plates to share. But this was one of the better small plate experiences I've ever had. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about bot the food and wine. The service was swift, but not rushed (we were dining before the theater so we had a time constraint). And the quality of the food... More

Cleo is a longtime favorite - the food here is simply outstanding and what keeps us coming back. Favorites include the labneh, Brussels sprouts, beef kebab with harissa, shawarma, moussaka, chicken tagine, and lamb shank. Great cocktails too - I love the janapolitan (belvedere vodka, strawberry and basil) and the old Hollywood (like an old fashioned with delicious nutty bitters).... More

If you go begin slowly as the food is delicious and ordering everything on the menu will leave you bloated. Best bet is to have people or one or two plates and then everyone share, if you want more, and you will, do a plate at a time. This is not some greasy spoon joint. The food is not over done... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
