Absolutely love Severance! It has become my go-to place in the neighborhood. Whether I'm looking for a quiet date spot or to grab drinks with some friends, Severance can do it all. The staff is warm and friendly, not to mention extremely knowledgable about every...wine on the (extensive and varied!) wine list. They even helped me find one of my new favorite wines that I had no idea even existed - a sparkling, dry red wine called lambrusco. The food is good. I highly recommend the fondue burger; it is an indulgent, incredible dish complete with a juicy burger smothered in cheese fondue and fries cooked to perfection. Severance is such an oasis along the sometimes chaotic Melrose Ave. Cannot recommend it enough!More

Really enjoyed this quiet and pleasant place. Ordered broccoli and fondue for three with bagel bites. Tomatoes, cauliflower, potatoes and bread for dipping. A very nice evening - will go again when visiting.

Fondue Burger at Severance Wine Bar was fabulous. Juicy double patties with lovely brioche, cheeses, and tasty caramelised onion. Love the balance between saltiness of cheese and sweetness of onion. Swapped fries for salad was not a problem at all. Quality service.

Loved this place! The food is scrumptious--and not what you expect to find at an LA wine bar (fondue, meaty sandwiches, even an Impossible burger for the vegans among us). The wines are superb. The cocktails are tasty (you'd never know that they aren't made...with hard liquor but are inventive concoctions using sherries, etc.). The menu itself is a fun read--very clever. The staff are knowledgeable, engaging and attentive. And the setting is intimate and relaxed. The night we went, we were lucky to be tended to by the owner, who sabered the bottle of bubbly we ordered--yowza! Next time we're in LA, we'll definitely visit again.More

Had a great time at Severance the other night. We are from out of town but come to LA frequently and will definately be back. The manager was great with wine selections to pair with the fondue and charcuterie. We also had a great champagne...cocktail to start things off. Can't say enough good things about the service and atmosphere. Keep it up!More

Although not a large menu. Every thing we tried especially the brussel sprouts were amazing! Attentive, friendly staff. Yummy drinks.

Melrose Ave is one of those funky, eclectic streets in LA. To our great surprise it just happened we came across this great little wine bar that has a super extensive by the glass menu and fabulous wine based mixed cocktails. You must try the...Smoked Negroni and the Mai Tai. If you enjoy champagne they will saber the top off. Yes you heard me right they bring a bar cart over to you and saber the top of the bottle off! A couple next to us ordered some champagne and we were able to witness the show! They also do some very interesting punches. As far as the food, where do I begin. The charcuterie plate was impressive and quite large. You can make a meal just out of this. Their cheese board had a wonderful combination of choices, something for everyone's palate. Be forewarned you need to bring friends to share because you will want to try everything! We also had the fondue which was outstanding!! Of course we had to try the tableside flaming baked Alaska for dessert, all I can say is WOW. If you live here lucky you as this is a place I would frequent often. If you are here on vacation and want to try something fabulous with friendly, knowledgeable staff and a warm inviting casual interior you must try this place, you won't be disappointed.More
