My girlfriend and I had a wonderful 50th birthday dinner here at LA Prime. The shrimp is not to be missed they were so huge that they split the order and it was still enough for both of us, we had a beautiful ribeye steak Delmonico and wonderful lamb chops they were succulent and very tasty the staff was warm... Great location on the 35th floor of the red tower of the Westin Bonaventure hotel in downtown Los Angeles (DTLA). Attentive, friendly, professional service from the staff. Beautiful view. I was really excited about visiting this location and, unfortunately, it didn't deliver... I settled in before the dinner rush, ordered and they missed one of the items I had ordered,... More

We dined at LA Prime/BonaVista Lounge Restaurant on the Sunday night and given the fact the place was nearly empty the service was very slow. We waited a good 10-15 minutes before we got our drinks, the wait staff seemed to be chatting to each other instead of serving the guests, very odd given the fact that the rest of... More

My first time to dine here and I was, as usual, a party of one. Was greeted warmly at this restaurant on the 35th floor of the wonderful Westin Bonaventure Hotel via the Red Tower. Once it was established that I was a solo table who only drank tap water, the service became less engaging. Don't get me wrong--it was... More

Wanted to try this restaurant for years. Fabulous view of Los Angeles from the top of the Westin Bonaventure, however I wish we would have just stopped with the revolving bar one stair flight below the non revolving restaurant. Cocktails were top notch with our waitress going out of her way to provide blue cheese stuffed olives for the martinis.... More

I'll start by saying that this review would not be so positive had Barrett, our server, not gone over and beyond for us. The restaurant lacks ambiance. You may expect from its price point, location, and birdseye view, it would have loads of ambiance but it's too brightly lit, the decor is dated and generally lacks much interest of character.... Our dinner was such a romantic experience. The outside elevator to the 35th floor. Watching the lighted buildings of LA as the room slowly revolved for a panoramic view. I believe the wine and food were wonderful, but I was so overcome with the view, that I'm not sure.

Attended a Christmas business dinner event at the Westin Bonaventure; had dinner at L,A. Prime. Very nice setting and food presentation. Started with a shrimp cocktail as appetizer and thank goodness they give you ample cocktail sauce to dip the giant shrimp into. I had their salmon which was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. Some other attendees had... More

After a 10-hour delay in Australia we arrived and had missed two flights. Dead tired when we got here I enjoyed a late night American hamburger which I havent had in a while.

Good service and a really nice view while eating dinner. The food was quite nice, although my boyfriend's steak was a little rare when he requested medium. It is quite pricey also.

Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
