Best known for their Buttermilk bars. The best in the city bar none!! Shop is very small. But worth the stop. Parking in rear is small & cramped You can probably get away with parking in the bank parking lot.

Old school since 1956. We arrived after 100pm to get some donuts and pastries but the shelves were almost empty. The elderly lady said this is all we have left and they weren't making anymore for the rest of the day, so you know they only sell fresh donuts. I bought an almond tart and it was delicious.

Fresh and simple. Some were really sweet but isn't that what eating a donut is all about? Nice, family run place.

If you are looking for classic no-frills donuts, this is the place. We ordered a mixed 1/2 dozen of a cake, buttermilk, old-fashioned, twist, and 2 cinnamon roll donuts. The donuts are perfectly moist and not overly sweet. It's a family run business since 1956 and it's your friendly neighborhood donut shop. Frilly donuts are great too but sometimes the... More

I am a West Side (West Los Angeles) local and this place is amazing!! We have doubts down the street, new "Artisan Donut Houses" on Abbot Kinney (big shopping street here) that start at $3.00 + per donut. Interesting flavors but nothing like Primos. They take the cake (and the raised dough)! I am not really a donut person, but... More

If you are looking for a donut with bacon on it, froot loops or a cronut, move along, this if not your donut shop. If you want a classic donut made the old fashioned way, this is the place you have to visit. Food & Wine magazine rated this the #1 donut shot in LA, and with good reason. Primo's... More

Primo's makes exceptional, pretty-much-perfect buttermilk bars, so skip it all, variety be hanged, and just get the buttermilk, which now comes both in bars and in traditional old-fashioned styles, and with a variety of glazes. They are just how you want them crisp on the outside with a minimal old-fashioned glaze, and dense and creamy inside. I don't see how... More

The buttermilk bars and twisted glazed were quite good. However, the iced (bland flavor) and jelly filled (really sweet) were just OK. Knowing what to order and what not to order, will make our next visit a better experience.
