Had done a Google for a tapas/wine bar and this came up. We walk in at 2.17pm. Having the word 'tavern' in the name, we thought we'd be in luck. A choice of 3 house wines does not really cut it. And it was terrible wine. Once ordering our wine at 2.20pm, the waitress asked us if we were ready... More

We eat here for lunch at 3times a month. The menu has a great selection of everything from appetizers to combinations. The prices are quite reasonable for quality food. Love the salad dressing! The restaurant decor is a fun, nautical theme. Booths are spacious and cozy. We've only used the "doorbell" in our booth when we wanted to order more... More

We wanted to have a laid back experience in this original LA neighborhood. Ebisu was a good choice, they have many choices, prices are very reasonable, my teens could order Ramune, we all had a relaxed time. Food was pretty good. It is true, service is a little slow, but it was adequate.

Went there late night and the service was good, food was better than expected. Large menu. Great hot green tea. Friendly Service. In Little Tokyo

The food was standard but the servis was lousy. The food took quite some time to arrive and they came one by one in a bad timing. The hot and iced green tea we ordered tastes fishy so we could not finish it.

The food took too long to come out, the table beside us (with more people) and they received their food much sooner than we did.

Good service, nice ambiance, seating for larger parties available, everything is good or great. The large menu has something for everyone.

Went there while attending a conference in LA. Excellent small plates to share, and reasonably priced.

True Japanese ramen should be simple, quick and delicious and this place embodies it all. Go in, order, eat your food, it's like being in Tokyo... Except the hour long wait because it's so popular. My recommendation is to go in as a single and you will be seated almost immediately. This is not a place for social gatherings, it's... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
