My family used to go to Chef Chu's several times a year, but got out of the habit for reasons not related to the restaurant. My golf group has several Asians so after golf it is common to go to a Chinese restaurant. Mostly we have been going to the same restaurant, but decided to break the mold and go... More

Very busy place. Good menu with lots of choices. Quality food, good service. Reasonable prices. Seems a little hurried. Tables are pretty close so conversation is shared

This restaurant has been in business for more than 45 years! It is excellent. We had hot and sour soup ( one of the best) and shared a large crispy garlic fish (cod). Everything was superb. Locals and asians fill the place.

I can't figure out why other Chinese restaurants in the area can't get their food to taste like what Chef Chu's produces. This is my go to place for top notch chinese food when I feel like waiting (if I don't have reservations) or don't mind dishing out the cash (it's also the most expensive chinese food in the area).... Came here for dinner. Not your average Chinese restaurant. Food was very fresh...very good. Had the Kung Pao Chicken and some egg rolls. Very good. Nice atmosphere romantic or casual dinner. Look forward to coming back here and trying some of there other dishes. Very busy...looks like they do a lot of take out orders. The service was acceptable. Our... More

This is not your usual, small family restaurant. It is large and upscale. Service is very professional. Food is good. Prices are high.

If you like standard choices prepared well this is definitely the place for you. During lunch hour, it's very busy but there's quick turnover. If you want to host a large crowd or a private party, reserve space upstairs in the more private area.

If you are ever in Los Altos and you enjoy authentic Chinese cosine you need to make it a point to dine at Chef Chu's. The food and service are second to none. This is my new favorite Chinese Restaurant.

There were four of us for dinner. We each ordered an entrée to share plus a vegetable and rice dish. We were all hungry, but could barely finish the EXCELLENT food

Ate here with my adult daughter, her husband and 2 yr old grandson. They seemed very accommodating to families, crayons and pictures to color and general tolerance. The food was more tasty than I expected. Cooked and seasoned well. Hunan chicken is what I got and it had a perfect spicey kick.

Thank Katherine D
