Went on a Wednesday night with reservations and was seated promptly even though we called ahead late because the water taxi was super late. They were nice enough about that but it pretty much went down hill from there. Long waits, improperly cooked filet and when we ordered the "One app to share" from the deal we asked what it... More

La Traviata is a special place in downtown Long Beach, an intimate restaurant with a warm, inviting atmosphere and a lot of charm. The cuisine is Italian with unique touches, they have a full bar, and they offer fine live entertainment on weekends. We have dined here many times and always enjoyed the experience. The owner Mario Nasab is truly... More

My wife and I purchased a Travelzoo deal to here and then added another for some friends birthdays to join us. We came on a Monday evening, easy reservations. This is in an old historic building in downtown Long Beach, the feel is very cool like stepping back in time. Our waiter was very knowledgable in the menu and wine,... More

We came to Long Beach to deal with my sisters illness. We came to La Traviata by chance an have gone back every night . We love the staff and the patrons. We cried and hugged everyone when we had to go home. The Daily happy hour menu was unbelievable! The rigatoni was great, but then the fish tacos and Mac... More

Came for a private party. Didn't get to select from menu, but we had calamari as appetizer. It was ok but a little chewy. Dinner was fish and a filet. Outstanding! Both cooked perfectly a each had great flavor. Great old restaurant. Loved the decor and the wine rack! Would come back to try other dishes.

We came her for a bday dinner since we missed the boat to Catalina. We had the roasted chicken and the calamari as appetizer, the rigatoni con carne, bruschetta and the Mac and cheese. Everything was good, great service from Albana, Mario was also nice. We'll be back if in the area.

I purchased a Groupon at a "too good to be true" price for 2 and planned to celebrate my husband's birthday and our anniversary on an early Saturday night. It was a rainy day and we decided to valet park even though there was nearby street parking. When we entered, we were greeted and delighted to notice the interesting art... More

First off, Mario is a total hoot! Greeted us the second we walked in (and came by our table later). He seemed to be coordinating some sort of filming. We asked what was going on and he said something like "Heck if I know." Cracked us up. Turned out someone was filming a marriage proposal. Mario seemed cool with it.... More

La Strada, which I've visited many times, is always worth a re-review. The food is of excellent quality, and the wine is good for a neighborhood bistro. My server, Miguel, was efficient, effective and friendly (oh and very prompt). The Tuesday night "deals" ($7 wines by the glass, $7 entrees) were extremely affordable and well-prepared. I was totally satisfied. The... More

Five of us went to La Traviata for an early New Years Eve dinner and had a less than desirable experience. The bread served was undercooked and "doughy". Two of our meals (fillet mignon) were mis-cooked and had to be sent back. We ordered a second bottle of wine, different from the first, and Mario poured it into a glass... More
