We chose Gladstone's for its harbor front location near our hotel. It is a very large restaurant. There was no wait and very prompt service. We were trying to eat light the evening we were there so we each ordered a bowl of the clam...chowder and shared a Caesar starter. Chowder was very good and the salad was good and fresh. That plus glasses of a nice pinot noir made for a very pleasant light meal. Saw a lot of interesting seafood coming out of the kitchen. Would definitely return if in the area again.More

Great place for a meeting dinner or any dinner for that matter. Ordered a bowl of the clam chowder which was excellent. Ordered the 2 sushi rolls for my entree which were very good. The server was very friendly with a great smile. I HIGHLY...recommend Gladstones.More

Very average meal and service. We walked from our hotel. Got seated quickly. Ordered Shrimp Cocktail (Ok) and Crab Cakes, worse I have ever had. My wife left her portion. Both main entrees were average no better, for the price we paid it was not...worth it. Overall average is a generous rating, would not returnMore

This restaurant was in walking distance from the hotel so we figured we would give it a shot. Its right on the harbor although I don’t remember seeing the water from my table and we sat outside, so I can’t say the views were great....I had the New England clam chowder (although it had a different name on the menu) and it was pretty good and the coconut shrimp which was just ok. My husband had a burger, again just ok, nothing special. They do have someone come around taking complimentary pictures of the people at your table, then when they come with the pictures they try to sell you the pictures in the frame…..we took just the complimentary photo (looks like a postcard) which was just fine.More

Went here for our anniversary 8/15/2022, and was surprised that pets are welcomed that aren’t service dogs. I love animals however, while I’m eating and their near by is not sanitary. Also two servers delivered food and then pet the dog. I was floored that...this restaurant allows this. Then another Patron came in and they were walking around with their dog. Wow!!!Also, my husband and I or ordered wine and my husband glass had lipstick on it and the server( never provided his name) didn’t apologize nor comp the wine. Our bill was $100+ for this type of service and astounded by the relaxed atmosphere. We will never return to this Gladstone’s, we will happily visit Marin Del Rey out of 1-10 they rate a 2😡More

This review happened during COVID (Aug, 2022). My wife, in-laws, and I came over the weekend to celebrate a birthday. My wife and I ordered the Clambake for Two. You definitely get what you paid for. It comes with plenty of Snow Crab Legs, a...whole Maine Lobster, peel and eat shrimp, potatoes, and corn. It also comes with a side of Steamers. It tasted great but some seasoning would have made it tasted even better (Cajon or Old Bay). My wife and I left with leftovers. My wife and I come here often and its one of our favorite locations to eat at in Long Beach. The restaurant has great views of the harbor and the Queen Mary. You are in walking distance of the Aquarium of the Pacific and the shops at Rainbow Harbor. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you are visiting Long Beach I highly recommend stopping by. Its worth a visit.More

It was a lovely sunny breezy Sunday, and the Long Beach waterfront was hopping busy with people out and about. Every place had a minimum 30 minute + wait for a lunch table, so we decided to sit at the outdoor bar at Gladstone, which...was available to walk in. A brilliant idea. The view was terrific, the bartender friendly and efficient, and the food tasty. Fish tacos were fresh and flavorful, and complimented by some fun tropical cocktails. Seems to be a very popular spot — we saw a few family gathering groups celebrating birthdays.More

Overall, the food was delicious (I had the crab), but it took forever for us to get our meal (party of 6) & it was only 3 tables inside that were occupied. It was also kind of dark inside being that it was 6pm.

While I do not take pride in giving a review that’s not glowing there are times when it cannot be avoided Gladstone’s was recommended by our hotel. It was an easy 10 minute walk. We were quickly seated on the patio with a nice view...of the water. The condition of the chairs and table was beat up and unkept. We were quickly greeted by our server and he was the highlight of the entire experience. He did an amazing job in providing the best possible service you could ever dream of having The food is where it all goes downhill. The fresh loaf of sourdough was very hot fresh and tasty. Next was the clam chowder which had an incredibly thick texture and not many clams or other solids like potatoes. Lastly we ordered the local halibut blackened. The server apologized that the only sides offered was mashed potatoes and vegetables. No substitutes allowed. The fish was bland in taste although it was blackened. The mashed potato’s were bland and no flavor. Lastly the steamed vegetables was not seasoned and small portion. As someone who travels more than 100 nights per year, I can’t in good faith recommend this restaurant.More

We read all the bad reviews. But it may be what you order. We had the snow crab. It’s like a skinnier king crab. And the ahi poke appetizer. Both were fantastic and large generous portions. We also ordered a Cobb salad but we’re too...full to eat. The sour dough bread loaf that comes with dinner was also da bomb. James was our waiter. Awesome service. Highly recommend!More

Memorial Day Sunday, early dinner. Walk in, seated in about 30 minutes. Quiet table in back corner of restaurant with good view of harbor and lighthouse. Reasonably priced wines by the glass. Wife had fish and chips, I hae the BLT Cobb salad. Fish was...cod, three nice sized pieces, fried crisp but not overdone. Salad had chicken, avocado, hardboiled egg, bacon, and bleu cheese over generous bowl of romaine.More

Grilled mahi mahi, halibut and salmon with your choice of sauce/glaze. I chose caper butter. Garlicky potatoes and fresh vegetables grilled: carrots, broccoli and green beans were tasty too. Very generous serving of Ceviche appetizer was good. I requested fresh lemon to squeeze over it...for the taste I prefer -> delicious. Fresh warm loaves of sourdough bread are served as you wait for your meal to come to your table. Outside dining next to the bay is available, with patio heaters to warm the nip n the air. I had only 4 nights in Long Beach for a business convention. Went 2 nights and ordered the same "School of Fish" each night. So good! Definitely would return agin if in the Long Beach area.More

Happy Hour menu is outdoors and at high top tables or at the bar. Good prices and good drinks. I went back twice, and it was on the bay, so very scenic too.

Great service, and delicious food! We were seated right away. Had a nice view of the water. We were there for a nice sunset. We had lobster sandwich and a swordfish sandwich. Both were delicious! Drinks were refilled often. Great meal!
