I expected good Mexican food and got canned chicken in my enchiladas. Salsa was also not home made. Prices are cheap but so is the food. You get what you pay for.

I went to this restaurant with my mother and my sister. The food as always was excellent but the seats were a bit worn. The chips are light and crispy with a good salsa. I ordered a chili relleno with no rice, just retried beans. The beans are the classic creamy refried pintos that I love and they were excellent.... More

The wet stake burrito with red sauce was great. The refried beans were a little overcooked but the spanish rice made up for that. The Salsa was the best part of the meal. I put it on everything!

Decent food, but nothing special. Breakfast doesn't start till 10 A.M.. A bit pricey for run-of-the-mill Mexican food. We've eaten there 10 times, and will return, but don't plan on an early breakfast, or anything special.

We stopped for lunch. Before we ordered, in addition to chips and salsa, they gave us a cup of creamy vegetable soup that was different and delicious. The salsa was absolutely super. All four main courses were very good.

Always Good Service, they treat me like I live here (Which I do Now), they offer Daily Specials "Every Day" on their Bulletin Board, but they don't write the Word "WITH" Rice & Beans, they just write "R&B" so you "Don't" know if it is Rice and Beans, or Rhyme and Blues and expect a Musical Band inside the Restaurant... This restauarant boasts authentic Mexican food with names of foods that are unusual to us in the US and so they have to explain everything, as the menu doesn't give enough clue. The dishes we have tried are good, but I guess we seem to prefer Americanized Mexican food.

I have only lived up here in the mountains since I retired in 2008, but have been coming up here for 40 years visiting friends. This restaurant building has changed hands / changed names at least 5 times since 2008. The wife and I decided to "give this one a try" about two weeks ago, and boy are we glad... More

I am a local, and I finally went to dinner here. I had the Chile Verde Enchiladas. The Chile Verde was very tasty and authentic. However, as another reviewer noted, they use flour tortillas. I have never had anything but a corn tortilla enchilada in other Mexican restaurants. This ruined it for me. No delicious corn tortilla flavor, and it... More

Chef Serape is located where the prior tennant, El Rio, was located. Not sure what happened but this location has had numerous name changes and cusine changes over the past few years. My wife and I wanted Mexican food so we decided to try this new place. I have read the prior three reviews and I can say that I... More
