Las Brisas is a shadow of its former self. What once was THE place to go for breakfast, brunch or fabulous dinners has now become very mediocre. We had been going to the brunch for years, taking family and out-of-town guests. While it was a pricey option, it was worth it because of the location and ambiance. Recently when we wanted to go there again, we were shocked at how high the prices had been raised so we chose another option in Laguna. It's sad because Las Brisas was once an ideal spot but the changes and price increases the restaurant has made without any menu updates, doesn't warrant a return visit.

Haven't been here for years. Came for our birthday brunch. Asked for a table on the side overlooking the ocean but was told there was an hour wait despite having reservations. There were 3 tables that were never filled. The Smoked salmon tostadas were wonderful but the rest of the food was good but not exceptional. I asked for cranberry juice for my mimosas and they gave me something extremely watered down. Nice brunch with family, but we probably won't be back.

We were touring the Laguna Beach area and decided to stop here for an afternoon cocktail and some food. We were seated pretty quickly on the patio, where the weather and view were fantastic. This place was jumping with families and couples enjoying the holiday break on a beautiful day in Southern California. While the service was a little slow due to the busy crowds, we enjoyed our cocktails and the carne asada nachos. Highly recommend sitting out on the patio versus sitting inside the restaurant. A nice relaxing experience for us.

Thanks to Las Brisas we had the worst Valentines day ever! If it was possible I would have given them zero stars. They had a fixed menu for the day which is fine, it also means most of the food (cold courses) are ready to serve. The fixed menu was $125 per person and it was the worst food and service I had ever spent money on. It is understandable that the service would be a liittle slower than usual but in this case it was not moving at all. Our reservation was at 8pm by 9:15pm we were only on second course even tough we asked several times to go faster. I asked the server one last time to go faster and she said “they told us to go slow but I will tell them to go faster”. This was 15 minutes before our server finally realized we were really upset she asked a manager to come and talk to us. (Still no 3rd course by the way) I wish the manager Skye did not approach us since he has no idea how to manage an upset client yet he is supposed to manage a restaurant.. Instead of giving us an apology he very rudely said this is Valentines day you cannot expect us to go fast. Whaaat? We are the clients we can surely ask to go faster. I should point out that the other people were unhappy as well. The tables next to us were asking each other when they arrived and how slow the service was and how unhappy they were as well. At our boiling point the 3rd and 4th course magically arrived within minutes. We asked for the check which also arrived promptly with rude faces and without any apology whatsoever we left Las Brisass very unhappy. I warn all of you if it is a special day for you DO NOT go to this place where they will surely make you regret your decision. PS: The phones do not have good reception there and they also do not have Guest Wi-Fi to accommodate this incompetency as well!

The Las Brisas restaurant has an absolutely beautiful setting but it is grossly overpriced and the food is horrible. The wait staff is unaware of what the term service means they think you've gone there to talk with them . The waiter was rude and constantly interrupting us. He simply could understand that we wished to have a nice conversation over lunch without him talking over us every few minutes. We had salads and a chicken preparation. My guest did eat 90% of her lunch and the waiter never asked why nor cared. The salad was dry and for the most part without dressing. The chicken was grossly over cooked, rubbery, tough, unspiced and tasteless! When brought to the attention of the manager, his response was that I should come back to lunch again and he would make sure things would be better. NOT a chance! I already wasted a lot of money there and he wants me to pay again for crap? No thank you! There are many better choices available.

Has a 12:30 reservation for Sunday brunch with a party of 5. Did get seated right away, and water brought over. But 2 of the glasses was dirty. Next contract with a waiter was about 40 minutes later when we asked for our waiter.. Another 20 minutes later someone come by with menus and we said we are ready to order before he ran off. Now to the food. came about 20 minutes later, the main courses were terrible. Both the Lobster Benedict and Crab scramble was not fresh, and smelled fishy, Cannot believe the price for this quality brunch is 45 dollars a person. The price is the same but they don't brings breads like they used to.

We were recommended this restaurant by friend for the view and dining experience. I must say that the Margaritas were good, the barbecue pork ribs excellent, the yellowfin tuna carpaccio excellent...but the tacos a little disappointed..had much better elsewhere at a better price too. We perused the whole menu and found it okay....not what I would have expected for the location and price range...would definitely go for the sunset with Margaritas, yellowfin tuna, pork spare ribs..did not try the steak dishes, so I cannot comment, but in my opinion I wouldn’t stay for a full meal, having had a couple of the dishes to find that I had better elsewhere. Perhaps, I think it is a great place for the experience of the view with a light meal or a lunch, depending on your preference of food choice. Service was very good, couldn’t fault it at all. Atmosphere excellent. You don’t need to Valet Park $10 as we did, not knowing there is public parking right out front of the restaurant in a little side street that we did not encounter until we walked from VP to the entrance which is right where public parking is.

The only thing we like about this place was the view. The service is good but the food is terrible, too expensive for the quality of food you get. One night I ordered a lobster, it was the was lobster I have had, it wasn't fresh! We decided to give it an other opportunity since we couldn't find table in an other restaurant, this time I order the scallops, and again no fresh and it came just 3 scallops with some decoration and that's it. The price was ridiculous and I was still hungry even when we han appetizers. An other thing it's that the menu doesn't describe exactly what you are going to get, but this is very common in restaurants in the U.S

My wife chose this place mainly for its history and location. After eating here, I believe it’s one of those restaurants that gets high marks based on the beautiful location, history—but not so much on the food itself. It’s expensive (as you’d expect given the location)but the food does not match the prices. The lobster tostadas were pretty good, but the Chile relenos arrived luke warm and the flavor was mediocre. Our daughter ordered a basic cheeseburger and again, it arrived luke warm as were the fries. And again, pretty mediocre flavor. I will say that the setting is great as is the service, but I always judge a restaurant if I would visit again and/or encourage others to do so and with this place, I would do neither. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good food—just not at these prices.

As others have mentioned, the view here is incredible. I initially asked to sit outside, but, once seated, I realized that the inside and patio menus are different. We came for brunch, so we moved indoors. They offer a $45/pp price fixed 4 course brunch that consists of fruit and sweet bread starter, followed by your choice of appetizer, entree and dessert. Our group had fruit & yogurt as well as salmon tostadas as the appetizer. We followed with lobster eggs Benedict, French toast, flan and sorbet. All of the food was very tasty (although it’s a lot of food!) There were many sweet or savory dishes to choose from, so I think most people could find something to suit. We enjoyed the experience.

This is the typical beach-side restaurant that everybody talks about because the location is indeed great, however even though the food is of good quality (not outstanding), they are ready to be cheap and greedy if you give them the opportunity. We were charged $38 for asparagus enchiladas which were recommended as a vegan alternative by the waitress. Little did we know that the rapacious waitress had the intention of charging us the same price as if we were having the steak/lobster enchilada. We asked her nicely if she thought that that price was correct and she said yes. This is when you see the real character of a place like this; if they are ready to help the customers or on the contrary jump at the opportunity to clearly rip us off, which is what they did. You can still fix this mess, restaurant owner, by getting in contact with us and doing some damage control and giving a serious warning to your bold waitress which took a decission completely above her paygrade. It is up to you. We will be glad to not recommend this place and post other similar reviews on other platforms. In the end, for not more than a few dollars, you are losing customers and facing a small crack in your already tarnished reputation (there are other similar reviews). I don't think you care so I will finish my review here by giving you also the lowest possible rating.

Las Brisas has a wonderful location and great margaritas, which is a very good start. The views, even at night, are lovely. After that, however, it's just not that special. Service is friendly, but about the same as you'd expect in any good, middle of the road, sort of place. The menu for dinner is limited and there are few choices that are not on the pricey side of things. The food itself is good, but again, nothing special. A competent steak, if a little thin, good and very expensive enchiladas with sauces that were average at best, salmon cooked competently. Most folks seem to see this as a special occasion restaurant. I'd put it down as a nice place to have lunch with a view.

Las Brisas is an iconic spot in Laguna Beach that will afford you sweeping views of the water while dining al fresco or indoors. Its cuisine still confuses me to this day but perhaps it's safe to say they serve Mexican and seafood dishes - overpriced only because you know...location, location, location. Our table had an amazing backdrop of the ocean with the sound of splashing waves in the background. It was indeed a beautiful setting. We started with a variety of appetizers such as seared tuna, chips and guacamole, and spicy tuna tostada to name a few. Enjoyable but forgettable. My main entree was the Shrimp Tampiquenos which had succulent Mexican prawns served on a bed of rice topped with corn, all in a delicious white wine garlic sauce. My clean plate in the end says it all. For dessert, their Tres Leches was a popular choice at our table and for good reason. We had wonderful service at the beginning but somehow we were forgotten about towards the end even if it wasn't at all a busy night. What a shame.

I ordered the steak and lobster enchiladas at a cost of a little under $40. They had no flavor and were served cold. The rice and beans were flavorless and served cold, too. The guacamole was heavily over salted and the chips were stale. Not at all impressed with the food and it is over priced. Wait staff were fast. Views from the backside of restaurant were terrific, but you don't have to eat at the restaurant to enjoy them. There is a nice paved walking path accessible from the street. There are better restaurants to dine at in Laguba Beach.
