Expecting a pleasant morning meal at the La Quinta Baking Company today. So disappointed by the rudeness of the woman owner who, after being asked why our party of two could not be seated at one of the many open tables, gave us an angry...look and proceeded to talk to us in a very disrespectful way. If I had not been a guest of a friend who wanted to stay and eat there, I would have walked away immediately! This was my first and last time to visit this establishment. I will NEVER go back to that restaurant again! When you own a business, you must be considerate to your paying customers. Without them, you would not be in business. Surprised she hasn't learned that lesson.More

We enjoy having breakfast and lunch at the La Quinta Bakery Co. The eggs Benedict, eggs Florentine and poached eggs on toast are delicious. All their breakfast items, croissants and lunch menu are wonderful. Their coffee is terrific. We also especially enjoy the tuna melt...on the lunch menu. We often get takeout. The owners and staff provide great customer service. We’ll be back again soon.More

A great standby. My wife loves their oatmeal and I love their omelets or croissant egg bacon and ham and cheese sandwich. Yum. Come soon come often.

An unlikely place in a strip mall. It’s essentially a bakery that is trying to be a restaurant. Tables are very crowded in there and the bakery goods are right behind some of the tables making it a bit awkward if you just want to...get some baked goods. But never mind that! The food is excellent. Their potatoes that accompany their egg dishes are delish! Will certainly return there. I understand they are open also for dinner. Will be curious to see how they transform into a dinner type place.More

I have been by this place a million times and never really knew it was there. It is right on 111 but doesn't face the street. It is a small restaurant and they use every inch for tables. It was pretty full when we got...there, good thing we had reservations. My hostess even reserved 2 BBQ ribs dinners - the special of the evening. We got the last two at 6:30. There is a nice wine list and a complete dinner menu. One friend had the penne pasta and shrimp and the other had the lasagna (the last one of the evening). They only make so much food and when it is gone - it is gone. My ribs dinner came with fresh green beans and french fries, I opted for the au gratin potatoes. Everything was very good. I would have liked a little more sauce on my ribs, but I like them saucy. The meat was nicely cooked. The beans were cooked perfectly, still with a little snap. We did not have room for dessert but they have a wonderful case that had key lime cheesecake, bread pudding, coconut cake, and many others choices. A very nice evening.More

After playing some tennis we decided to have breakfast and a friend introduced me to this great find. Reminiscent of a French Bispo the ambiance and food were excellent. Whether it’s pastry, quiche or a simple croissant you can’t go wrong. Enjoy.

When was the last time you went out for breakfast, and also had dessert? Well, not actually. But it feels that way when you see their tempting pastry selection. We had the chocolate éclair after a hearty breakfast. And the coffee...full sized cups of fresh,...good coffee. Cozy and friendly staff make this a family favorite.More

We ate here twice while in La Quinta for the weekend! We visit often and have never tried this place because there are so many choices in La Quinta for breakfast, lunch and dinner! We had lunch and breakfast here and it was all amazing....It was a busy place both times but the servers worked together to take care of us and deliver some delicious choices. The chiliquilles that they only serve on the weekends were our favorite! The sauce was obviously homemade; light, flavorful and it left me craving more! I would say everything we had was also delicious and fresh and because we came twice, I would definitely visit again because I know the service is spot on and the food is wonderful. Check out the chicken salad stuffed avocados with greens. Another favorite!More

Needed a few Napoleon pastries for a party, so I purchased just one to take home to sample. Well, the cream filling had separated, having the texture of cottage cheese. There was also a distinct freezer burn or refrigerator smell throughout the pastry. And all...this for a bargain price of only nine-dollars. Had tried one here before some years prior and it was poor. Returned thinking things may have improved since then and the location was convenient for me. I have since learned a few things about this particular pastry. It's all about the cream filling. It is possible to freeze and then thaw in order to offer this labor intensive pastry daily, as is done at this bakery. However, it requires a different cream filling recipe to prevent what happened here and also to prevent the moisture in the filling from making the flaky puff-pastry within, soggy, during an extended shelf life. But these precautions still compromise the original recipe and therefore, many a baker purist will offer Napoleons only once a week. I would expect a pastry shop/restaurant like LQBC to know all the above. It continues to amaze me how many food establishments simply do not sample their product regularly, instead waiting for the customer to alert them.More
