We met friends at La Brasserie. My date likes the liver and onion special on Sundays. We found a nice wine and enjoyed that it has half price on Sundays. I started with the steak Tartare appetizer and my date had the grilled octopus Basuaise....That was over cooked. Our friend had a nice french onion soup. For the main course, my date was told that they must coat the liver in flour before they cook it. She has had it before and is gluten-free so was confused. Anyway, she had to pass as she can not take the risk if they make the liver with four now, I had the Wienerschnitzel but asked to sub more vegetables for the fries. That did not happen and the veal was heavily breaded as well. I do not remember it that way before. My date choose the pork chop as her entree but it was not cooked well. A lot of disappointments for a place we enjoyed going. It makes me wonder if they have a new chef in the kitchen.More

We went at the beginning of our stay and loved it so much, we went back again for our last night. The service is fantastic, the ambience very cozy, the food is incredible and presentations look like art work. i heartily recommend the beet and...humboldt fog appetizer. The staff are very accommodating. I do not care for olives, so they prepared the salmon without the tapenade coating and it was cooked to perfection. We have been coming to Palm Desert/La Quinta area for almost 20 years and somehow never found La Brasserie until this year. My husband and I really enjoyed our two evenings here and will definitely return on our next trip.More

Our meal and dining experience far exceeded our expectations. The people were so friendly, the atmosphere was very pleasant (we went early and it was nice and quiet), the recommended wine was excellent and and reasonably priced, and the food was fabulous. What more could...you ask for. This is our new favorite place to eat in La Quinta (along with the Cliffhouse, of course).More

The welcoming staff and environment set the tone for the whole meal. It kept getting better! Gina was amazing- attentive, engaging, and genuine. Her recommendations were spot on, and pacing of the meal was perfect. The escargot appetizer was well balanced, the bread crispy and...light. My Steak Frites was also fantastic- flavorful and done just right. I was too full to have dessert, so I brought home the pear tart and wow! It topped off the night in perfect form. Thank you Gina, et merci beaucoup aux les chefs.More

Better than any French in LA. For sure. The food is fantastic the staff is amazing and professional even down to the Busboy. This is a wonderful restaurant. We ate outside when it was nearly 95, but with the misters we were very comfortable. This...should be a stop for anybody looking for a good meal in the desert.. Try the baguette, they are the best anywhere outside of ParisMore

We had a wonderful dinner last night. A beautiful patio setting (you'd never know it was in a strip mall), professional, delightful service and best of all, delicious and memorable food. The owner/chef is always a good sign of hands-on commitment. Very skillful preparations and...presentations. We will be back. 😋More

We enjoyed mussels and pork chops with amazing beet salads paired with wonderful wine. Don’t forget to buy beers for the kitchen. Make your reservations, this is a grand experience.

I posted my review yesterday and today I received a call from the owner of La Brasserie. My grievance was acknowledged (which was greatly appreciated) and a conversation had about what transpire. An invitation to return to the Restaurant to have the lamb chops was...extended. Thank you very much we appreciate the call.More

We have been exploring new restaurants and went to La Brasserie for dinner. It was Sunday night and they had a 50% off wine bottle promotion. We ordered a tasty Rombauer chardonnay which was delicious. I had steak tartare as an appetizer and my date...had grilled octopus and chorizo. The steak tartare was not as spicy as I have had in Europe but was very fresh and easy to mix the ingredients. The grilled octopus was as good as I have had in Barcelona Spain. My date had a grilled liver and onion main meal. I had the prime New York Steak. The steak was properly prepared and delicious. We will be back again.More

This place is excellent from the quality of food to the wait staff. We ate outside on the patio which was beautiful and had a great ambiance. We ordered the beet salad, autumn salad, grilled octopus and pork belly. This was the best beet salad...I’ve ever had. The octopus was so good we ordered a second serving. We had the pear tart and raspberry sorbet for dessert which were both delicious. Our server was attentive and had excellent knowledge of the food and wine menus. I would have expected to pay far more than our total bill considering the quality of food and service. I highly recommend this place.More

Very attractive place with a lovely outdoor patio. I made reservations - which you can do even in the bar area and their separate menu. The food was wonderful. Traditional French sauces were delicious. But service needs work. There seemed to be enough staff -...unusual these days. But our server had some personal hygiene issues, didn't know what a basic "Kir" is, and did not properly clear plates.More

This is a mixed review. The restaurant was lovely, the food was delicious, but the service was not good. We are four "mature"😉 friends celebrating our birthdays. Issues...I ordered an amarreto on ice, my drink arrived and I mentioned to the server that there was...more than amarreto in the glass (it tasted like an amaretto sour including carbonation). He said "You ordered amaretto on ice and that's what you got." We had arrived at 6 pm and ordere our meal at the same time we ardered our drinks. I had received and finished my soup and had not seen our server in over 15 minutes and it was now 7:20. Since our server was no where to be seen, one of us sought out the manager to share that we would like to know when we would recieve our order. The server came to the table with no apologies but pointed at me and said that he was waiting for me to finish my soup before submitting our order. I worked in food service for eight years and all of the managers I worked with always wanted to have the customer leave satisfied and heard. The manager apologized by saying that kitchen was backed up, I suggested that if the server had come and said that he was sorry the kitchen was backed up, even that would have made the wait more palatable but to not even see the server for over 30 minutes and to be told it was my fault for ordering soup was not acceptable.More

We were spending our anniversary in the area and decided to try this restaurant after seeing the reviews. The restaurant did not disappoint! (It was bit pricier than expected but we really enjoyed our meals.) First, the patio was really well done. The patio is...so well enclosed we forgot it is part of a strip mall parking lot. IMHO They have really done a great job creating a small cafe atmosphere. We went went with cocktails over wine and I thought they nailed the Vesper Martini ($15) and my wife loved her drink - La Vil En Rose ($14). The food was great. The entrees the trout special ($34) and Salmon ($36) were cooked perfectly. We split the Lyonnaise salad and it was the real star with perfectly poached eggs on both halves. Very nice! Gina was our server and she was a bit slammed at first but was so personable and patient - you could her interact with all of her customers in the same patient fashion. Overall, the staff did such a great job making sure our water glasses were full. (It was very a very hot evening.).More

To avoid anyone else wasting their time -- Delivery noted on the website and on DoorDash - when tried to order via DoorDash, "Maximum" order was $25 and unable to order. Called restaurant and was told it the max was $250 and that it was...a DoorDash problem. Called DoorDash and they said that the restaurants both set and control those settings. Tried again the next day, and again called the restaurant, asking if they just don't use DoorDash, and person answering phone said they did, said they'd ask their accountant to fix it. Foolishly looked on DoorDash the next day, and the restaurant is listed as closed even though it is open. No idea why they couldn't just say it was a non-option the first time I called, and I assume they at least take food safety honestly and seriously, but I won't be finding out.More
