Exceptional old school charm, ambience and fantastic food on La Quinta. A little on the speedy side, but, great value.

The happy hour and bar are fun and have good music. There is also ample parking. Feels like a classic Place.

This place has a lovely atmosphere, but is a bit overrated. It’s very pricy. Despite the nice service and presentation we will not return. Too expensive for what you get. I had the Chilean sea bass special, and my husband had the flat iron steak....Both were good, but not legendary. The chocolate lava cake was average at best.More

Yes it is expensive but you pay for what you get. In this case, we had wonderful service in a beautiful setting on the outside patio. We met friends there last night that we had not seen in over 5 years. They came up from...San Diego with many fine restaurants and was still very impressed with Lavender Bistro. We started in the bar and they allowed us to bring our happy hour drinks with us to our table. The outside tables are just as beautifully done with starched tablecloths and wine glasses holding pretty lavender napkins. All four of us loved our meals. I really enjoy their mussels which is the least expensive item of the entre's for $29.00. However I close the chicken curry which was wonderful. I choose mild and it was just perfect and plenty filling. My husband had the Thursday special, the prime rib for $39 which was a huge slice and he raved about it. Our friends had short ribs and a steak and also loved every bit of it. We stayed over 3 hours and never felt rushed or bothered. The enclosed patio kept us from any wind and it was never cool enough to use the heater or put on a sweater. This is the place to take company to and to go for special occasions. The only tiny negative remarks I will make is that we were not blown away with their rolls and garlic butter spread. They get packed and the tables are fairly close together. I made a reservation and asked for a quiet table but it appeared that no one table was chosen ahead for us. It seemed that you have to get there early and try to get a table you like. They do not open the dining room before 5:30pm. On a cooler day ask for a table by a heater and they could be all used if you come late. Finally our meal for the two of us with 3 drinks and 2 main courses with tax came to $136.00.More

I ordered sea bass and received halibut. They tried to tell me that it was sea bass but I know my fish and knew for sure it was not sea bass. Also the fish was very dry so I sent it back and ordered the...ahi tuna. For the price they charge it was just ok. I am very disappointed and will not go back there.More

The food entrees and atmosphere at this boutique restaurant are exceptional and is an excellent choice for a different dining experience. The outdoor patio area is beautiful with lights and heaters (when needed) and creates a special ambience which is palpable. Both steak and seafood...items were superb and the restaurant is always busy as it’s reputation is growing in the Old Town La Quinta area. Better plan on dinner reservations well in advance when wishing to dine during the season Nov.- April. Absolutely loved this place!More

Went on a Sunday night and sat in the courtyard which is very nice. Service was good however the meal was very average . It was only 6:30 and they had run out of sea bass and substituted a very fishy tasting filet of Branzino....It was awful. The duck that was also ordered by one of our party was overcooked and dry. Overall very disappointing given the upscale pricing. Paying for the ambiance.More

Nice ambiance, music on patio, many choices on the menu, nice wine list. Table of 10 on first visit--all ordered different courses, dishes. All plated beautifully and all tasted great. Table of 4 on second visit--all ordered different meals and all excellent. My fave is...the curry with shrimp. My husband orders Ahi Tuna. Phenomenal.More

So they have a nice bar area, with a long firepit for ambiance, and live music which was nice. We thought the cheese plate was overpriced with not much on it, they threw a bunch of lettuce in the middle of the platter to fill...it up, and there was hardly any cheese. its expensive, and the bar bites were just ok, maybe we hit them on an off night. I would probably stick to dinner on the patio.More
