I'm a local and love to support our local businesses. My friend and I had dinner at The Grill on Main last night and had one of the best meals since I can remember. I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture of my meal but let me start with Happy Hour which you can choose from a myriad of bites and cocktails until 6pm for Happy Hour prices. They had specials and the meal I chose was the Ribeye Steak with mashed potatoes and green beans, it was done to perfection and I ended up even taking some home. My friend had the Special Sea Bass and even though it looked like a small portion it was actually very filling. It came with Wasabi Mashed Potatoes and veggies. All very fresh and delicious. It was nice being out after being cooped up and it was so nice to see how many "take out" orders they had. Do yourself a favor stop by for a meal or take out. Oh, and by the way our service was excellent!!! Five Stars to our server and food!

After several takeout meals of soggy buns and fries, it’s wonderful to experience fine dining like old times before COVID. Well, sort of. Our table in the quiet, covered outdoor patio felt safe and sufficiently distanced socially. Our early dinner reservation time coincided with Happy Hour and the craft beer on tap and the unique Dutch non-alcoholic beer quickly put us in a jolly mood. The quality of food and service was excellent. My New York steak was thick and juicy, done perfectly. My dinner companions all liked their prime rib special. The Caesar Salad with anchovy was spot on with the appropriate amount of dressing. Glad we drove here from our hotel in Palm Dessert.

I’m not a huge salad fan, but the BLT salad is my go to at the Grill. This is a lovely restaurant in Old Town La quinta. Perfect before or after shopping! I’ve been several times over the years and the food and service never disappoints.

We made a reservation for two through OpenTable for last evening. We arrived on time but we were only offered a table in the very noisy bar area (instead of the restaurant). When I requested a table for two in the restaurant (it was my birthday and as I had reserved), I was told we would have to wait 45 minutes. The host was arrogant and did not care one bit. I can understand if we were walk ins but not with a reservation. We have supported this restaurant at least one a month over the last two years. This is not the first time we have experienced rudeness from the hosts. We have seen them treat others the same. So disappointing. We had a great evening at the dependable and always pleasant Stuft Pizza

We are frequent guests of this restaurant…come here at least once a week. Today, something was way off. The “hostess” could care less that 2 customers with reservations were waiting there while chatting with a server. Refused to report my points to Opentable, as was as unsmiling as could be. She about chocked when we wanted to move over 1 table to get out of the Sun. It didn’t stop there. Had to ask for water three times..to the same server…three times and it still didn’t register. It’s like everyone who worked there today was pissed off. We will give it one more shot but if it’s the same attitude, I’ll just walk next door. January 24, 12:45 pm

The Grill on Main is in Old Town LaQuinta. This is a very busy area at dinner time. Lots of restaurants for every taste. The Grill is one of the best.
We had dinner here last week. Had a reservation for 6 o'clock and didn't have to wait for a table. Good thing we had it! This was a birthday dinner for "one of us." Even though neither one of us counts the years anymore. Why bother, right?!
From the time that we were seated, our waitress, Casey, made sure that we were going to have a great time. And we did. Thank you, Casey!
We started with a California Caesar Salad. I even had it with anchovies. They were served on the side. Excellent!
Entrees: My wife had the Grill's Meatloaf, that was absolutely delicious. With mashed potatoes, green beans, tobacco onions and gravy. Perfecto!
I had, per Casey's recommendation, the Jumbo Scallops Carbonara. Featuring de cecco linguini, asparagus, crispy bacon, cracked pepper, in a parmesan cream. Seriously, this was so good that I don't have the words to tell you how good it was. It was THAT good!
Almost forgot: we started this celebration with a couple vodka martinis on the rocks. With blue cheese olives. Great pour. Thank you, Mr. Bartender!
All that said: this was a special dinner. Made even more special by the outstanding service and delicious meal at The Grill on Main.

Really enjoyed our dinner at The Grill on Main. Seated at a great table on the covered patio which was perfect. Our server was so lovely-professional, efficient and sweet. All the employees we interacted with were great. Our reservation was at 5:30 and we were provided with Dinner menus as well as the Happy Hour menu (ends at 6:00pm). We started with the baked meatballs which had the most delicious sauce with mushrooms and melted cheese as well as very tasty garlic cheese toast. I had the fish & chips with coleslaw, the perfect portion size and very tasty. My husband had the pasta with shrimp and it was so flavourful, he loved it. Very reasonable prices and excellent service - a fantastic dinner spot. Highly recommend!!

we first went here with friends for dinner about 2 weeks ago and the food, ambiance and service could not have been better. Based on that experience, we went there today for lunch and what a disaster of a server we had. First words out of her mouth were "want do you want to drink"? No hi, I'm Daisey and I'm going to take care of you today. We had to flag her down for any attention. Ordered an appetizer and she asked if we wanted it before our meals and we said YES. Our appetizer arrived AFTER our meal. She never refilled our glasses, no "how is everything?" We had to flag down the busier to get our check. Never saw our server again. It was crystal clear that she did not want to be working there. I'm not sure if we will return based on our visit today. What a letdown. From full 10 to zero. It is all about the person who is your server...that is who is supposed to represent the restaurant to the customer. We had such high hopes for this place.....

We went to the outdoor Sunday market in Old town LaQuinta. This is in the centre of town and has some assortment for a variety of tastes. No a huge amount to choose from but what they do provide is tasty.
I had their spinach salad and my husband had the mushroom omelet. He had a coffee and I had the pomegranate mimosa.
Salad was awesome! The omelette looked tasty. The mimosa was good but for my liking I think the pomegranate mad it too sweet.
Service was attentive and good. Friendly staff and good atmosphere.
It was super bowl Sunday so it wasn’t packed. Bill without tip was $34.

Have been to the Grill On Main twice and both times left disappointed. The place is busy and VERY noisy if you take an inside table. The bar attracts a large crowd, which is great for their business, but a large bar crowd makes for noise. That coupled with a low celling, well! This past trip to the Grill on Main my wife made a reservation and requested a patio table. We arrived and the hostess said a couple of minutes while we clear a table. After 15 minutes I ask the same hostess how much longer and her answer was something like it will be quite awhile. I should have ask how long would they have held our 5:30 PM reservation but I did not. At about the 30 minute make my wife inquired how long and got the "...a while..." answer. The hostess offered an inside table and unfortunately(noise, noise) we took the inside table. We knew the outcome would be bad but we had already waited an half hour past our reservation time so we took the inside offer. A major noise mistake but, at least, we were on tack to get food! The hostess was pleasant but not helpful at all. Our server was friendly and efficient.The food is just ok, something I would call pedestrian. Prices not outrageous. Will I ever come back, probably not, but if I do it will surely not be on a Friday or Saturday evening. To many similartype restaurants in the area to put up with the inside noise and the function of seating a customer with a reservation close(within 15 minutes) of their arrival. Again, I did not ask but I seriously doubt The Grill On Main would have held my reservation for more than 15 minutes, even with a phone call.

Busy place for happy hour and Taco Tuesday. Different specials daily.
We were able to be seated outside (less noise).
There is a back room you can use for a large celebration.
We had the fish and chips and beef dip and ribs.All were good except the ribs had way too much sauce on them but just spooned it off.

Our family went there for lunch on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, and we were very impressed. We were seated in a backroom, which was not crowded and very comfortable. The food was excellent. Among other things, we had the fish and chips and a salad with fruit, dates and greens. The portions were very large. The fish was cod and was fried to perfection. The service was quick, polite and professional. And the back room was a pleasant compliment to the front room/bar atmosphere.

we had a 3:15 rez due to a planned event after and upon arriving we were told that the only option was to sit at the bar or high top tables and enjoy the happy hour menu. as a foursome of seniors this wasn't appealing so only other option offered was to sit at a regular table and wait till 4 to order from the dinner menu. the manager was consulted and needed a bit of a push to allow us to sit at a regular table to even order a drink. hostess was sweet and apologetic and finally offered us the lunch menu. service a bit slow initially (maybe we were troublemakers) but once ordered all good. Food was pretty good but not outstanding. thanks to initial experience at arrival we probably won't be rushing back.

We had a nice dinner at The Grill on Main. The service from Heather could not have been better! For entrees we had fish & chips (fantastic), BLT salad (wonderful), French dip sandwich (tender!), and swordfish (fabulous). The patio setting was enjoyable, too. The only negative was we had a 6:30 PM reservation and were finally seated at 7 PM.

This is a reasonably priced, and very popular restaurant (if a little loud). We were happy with our food (the ribs were great, but the German Chocolate cake, which I've been craving for some time, was sublime - fresh and moist). Portion sizes were adequate; I'm glad I only had a half rack of ribs, and thank goodness my wife was prepared to share the cake. Excellent service for a busy restaurant (Thank you, Alicia!). Would recommend as a good choice in La Quinta.
