Very disappointed. I would have given one and a half stars if I could. Chips, salsa and guacamole were better than average but the rest was just okay. I had a surprise in my beans, a piece of plastic. Yuck! I notified the server who I asked to notify the kitchen which she did. They found the source of the... More

My favorite dish on the menu was Chile Colorado. Possibly the best I have ever eaten. "NO LONGER" The last time I ate there, a few years ago, Mario was the owner and Chef. He is no longer the owner or in the kitchen, and the Chile Colorado was awful. I am not going to be evaluating anything else on... More

This has been our favorite spot for years! The seafood soup served on weekends is really excellent! Also enjoy grazing on the bunuelos!

Always friendly. Clean restaurant with good food. We have always had good service here and like the area of town it is in.

Not a good evening for Mario's. The 'margarita's were made of some kind of wine concoction and were horrible. One server was friendly but the other rather surly. Food was middle of the road, other than the fresh salsa.

Mario's is the best, I eat here all the time. Only downside is no real margaritas, but I can have one at home! They have the best Carne asada burritos ever! I also really enjoy their DIY fish tacos. If you get an appetizer, we always like the surtidos platter, it's a little sampler of mini taquitos, flautas, and quesadillas.... More

Long time in La Mesa, great food. Love the fish taco plate. Cold beer and good salsa. Fast friendly service. Outdoor patio is nice for breakfast. Everything here is good.

I had lunch here last week and it was in the later part of the afternoon, the place was very quiet and I had great service and the food was wonderful. I had a carne asada Burrito and it was very well prepared. I enjoyed the salsa and complimentary chips. I will be going back very soon.
