I'm always looking for a local coffee place when I am traveling. This place has great coffee and even better pastries. Plus everyone was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

It was an enjoyable place. The sandwich was good; the mushroom brie soup was out-of-this-world fantastic. Wish I had the recipe. The turkey on the sandwich was ok, not great. It did not look like it had been roasted in-house. The avocado was brilliant and...More
That Awkward moment when a cafe asks you how much tip you would like to leave before they even make your food or provide any service. A small cafe - walk in and order breakfast. Wait for your food. Take your food to your seat...More
La Jolla locals love this place for coffee. In fact, they have opened a second location in the LJ Shores. The coffee is mild, but fresh and delicious. The baked goods are awesome - I LOVE the mini maple scones; they are so tender and...More

The Brick and Bell is a small cafe with indoor and outdoor seatings in the center of La Jolla. They serve the standard pastries and coffee. Still a nice place for a short break or a pick me up
We had heard about the scones and couldn't wait to try them. To be honest, they were fine, but not amazing! The person who waited on me seemed impatient and annoyed, as my 3 and 5 year olds made decisions on which scone to order....More
