Since there are no other Indian restaurants left in Jolla, my wife and I tried Taste of the Himalayas. Not a good decision. The restaurant is dark and cold. The service was good. The food ranged from bland to just not good. Never again.

We had walked by here several times, over the years, and it was always packed. But we got an outdoor table on a Friday afternoon - great service, variety and flavor. The meats were a little on the chewy side, but the Naan, Pakora, Lentil...Soup, sauces - fantastic.More

We were hungry and decided to give this place a try. We were seated outside and could see the ocean from our table. I ordered the bhanta kukhara and my wife the chicken vindaloo, both excellent choices. We asked what heat we wanted on our dishes and...we were talked into a 3 but you can go much hotter and enjoy your meal. Both meals were flavored perfect and the meat was very tender. This won’t be my last time eating Indian cuisine and I’d eat here again when in the area.More

Was in the village for three nights and chose this place for dinner out on the patio with a business colleague. He had the chicken Korma and I had chicken Biryani. I am a carbohydrate addict, and I love rice. I order biryani at every...indian restaurant I go to. And this place had the BEST chicken biryani I've ever had. The Khorma was o.k., not great. The naan was okay, not great. The service was okay, not great. The biryani was FANTASTIC.More

Tasty, great portions, very nice spice but not hot like indian food. Loved it. Not crazy expensive either!

Food is very good, and staff very accommodating. Vegetarian and Vegan options available, and the staff is aware of the menu and can suggest accordingly. The design of the restaurant is a bit dated and can be definitely improved, but location and service overall is...very good and worth if you like Indian Food.More

Food: We ordered the Chicken Masala, Chicken Korma, Malai Kofta, and plain naan. The food was very good. Portion sizes are generous. The chicken in the dishes were a little dry. The sauces were delicious. They went well with the basmati rice and naan. Service:...It took almost an hour for us to get our food. Our server apologized a few times for our order taking so long and gave us some complimentary lentil soup which nice. The soup was good. Other: Their location in downtown La Jolla is great. You can see La Jolla Cove from the restaurant. It makes for a great walk after dinner. However, parking can be quite challenging depending on when you go. We went on a beautiful Saturday night in July so we parked far. But we didn't mind the walk around Downtown La Jolla. Prices are good for being in La Jolla.More

We stopped here for lunch after a long walk on a warm sunny day. The food was tasty and the portions quite large. They made some sort of mistake with our order though, which meant that one meal arrived a lot later than the other....But all in all a good place to eat.More
