About
At NINE-TEN, guests will enjoy the unique seasonal style of "Evolving California Cuisine" with menus dictated by the local harvest. The menu is created daily to take advantage of fresh products discovered during daily excursions to local artisan providers including Crow's Pass and Chino Farms. The bounty of the sea is also featured with local fish selections and items arriving daily from Hawaii and the North Pacific and Atlantic regions. The restaurant interior is casually elegant with sidewalk tables on Prospect Street where people-watching becomes a pastime. Al fresco dining is offered on an outdoor terrace. Inside, the warm ambiance is enhanced with rich mahogany wood accents throughout the

Insane how good the food is here! I can’t say enough about how much I love this place. Our server’s name was Katie and she was absolutely wonderful! The starters were our favorite part ... the salad with peaches and short ribs. Wow! Also the...cake was incredible. I am all about presentation ... I feel like that is how I taste things first... the presentation here is A+++! Nine-Ten is an all around win for me!More

My partner ordered the Grilled Prime 14 oz. Ribeye Steak. He said it was awesome and thought if they served a side of baked potato, it may even take away from the dish... It was so good... I had a few bites with my pasta...and it was a very tender steak and the best Ribeye. I usually order tender meats like filet and I found it was just as tender. I ordered two Starters. The Halibut Ceviche (which is kinda like sushi). The Halibut is raw and this starter is served with tortillas sprinkled with a tangy and spicy seasoning. You can definitely taste the lime on this dish. The other starter I ordered was Cacio E Pepe (which is green colored spaghetti and parmesan cheese). We ordered this way because we thought 14 oz. is enough for two. I also ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio. My partner ordered two Cook's Light.More

Did a lot of research to find the place we wanted to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary dinner at, and happy we made a great choice. Received a card signed by all the staff, complimentary dessert and the server referenced our special day often. The...food was expertly prepared - grilled octopus, lamb and salmon were all wonderful. The wine list is extensive and provides both local and international options. The room has lovely ambiance and there is a nice vibe to the place, though on the weeknight we were there it was a bit of an older crowd. It's pricey and a bit fancy, but would recommend this place for a special occasion for sure.More

I have visited here three times and been very happy every time. The service was excellent last time for a busy Friday Happy Hour. The Happy hour goes to 6:30, which is nice. You save a few dollars here and there and get really good...food , beer, and cocktails. It is in front of a nice hotel in downtown La Jolla. A great place for Happy Hour, and a great place to take a date or your significant other. Small bar but you can sit by the bar on couches or chairs and see some of the ocean. Take it from me that this bar, restaurant is a winner. I never have eaten in the restaurant, but it is very nice. Good bar food, good restaurant food. Good times, good drinks, and nice atmosphere. Enjoy your life and visit soon.More

9 10 Is the name of the restaurant in the Grande Colonial Hotel, as well as the address on Prospect. It’s a high-ceilinged room, the décor subdued and the noise level the same. The restaurant has achieved that unique combination of elegant and comfortable that,...by itself, enhances the dining experience. Pay attention to your bread – a warm, small loaf with some really good butter. The scallops were lovely, in lobster bisque with enoki mushrooms, sprouting cauliflower and kumquat slices. They were slightly overcooked though – always thought they should be just barely cooked to the center, with a nice sear on the edges. Sometimes you don’t want fancy food. No problem here, even if it isn’t on the menu. Burger and fries comin’ up. Now, fries are always an issue with us. We order them either “well done,” “crisp,” “burned” or “cremated,” hoping they will arrive soft in the middle but not soggy and crisp on the outside, without being burned. In the decades of seeking the perfect French fry, this was as close as ever we’ve come! Wine Spectator has recognized 9 – 10 for its wine list. Though there isn’t much of age, there is a good selection, particularly by the half bottle and glass.More
