The is a great place for splurge date or a very special occasion. We were celebrating our 28th anniversary and opted for this fancy dinner in lieu of a weekend trip out of town. The room is lovely, fresh with windows looking right out on...More

For a group business dinner, we did a partial buyout of the restaurant. It easily fit our 85 attendees. We picked a limited menu, but with delicious choices - steak, lobster and halibut. It included a crab cake appetizer and a trio of desserts. Everything...More

Where else can you assist in the fleecing of the American taxpayer while having an inordinately overpriced meal in an atmosphere of snobbery and environmental debauchery? Yes, the location is great-let's get that out of the way immediately. Built when sustainable environmental considerations came second...More

The food is always amazing. The drinks are awesome. The staff is always on point. Even better the location. A great experience watching the ocean as close as possible. Not many restaurants with this type of location anymore. Thank you for the great experience.

I was part of a 14-member group celebrating my grandson's HS graduation. We were seated right next to the windows where breaking waves occasionally splashed against them. Service was great. I had the halibut, which was marvelous. My wife had the tenderloin, which she reported...More

There aren't many restaurants in California, much less anywhere in the US with this type of location. It is ON the beach in La Jolla... not on the beach with a boardwalk and 100 yards of sand where the better view is from the 3rd...More

We were here for a special event. Our granddaughters college graduation. The restaurant matched the event. Seated next to the window facng the ocean when spotted seals and had waves splashing on the glass. A special experience with service and food to match.

All of my previous reviews of the MR have been five-star raves, but our last visit was disappointing. OK, the food was superb (except for the Caesar salad with about 50% too much anchovies) and nicely presented, but the overall experience lacked five stars. The...More

Stopped by for cocktails at the bar. It is right on the beach with a wall of Windows to watch waves and the sunset. Attentive service and nice list of special cocktails and wines. Saw seals in surf and a beautiful sunset. During high tides,...More

I think you will be fine. The high tide will provide plenty of entertainment. Chef can prepare pasta or some other kid friendly food for the 6 year old. If the 1 year old is also eating this kind of food, too, you will be... More
