Was told by the hotel that this was one of the best. Looked at the reviews and they were right on. Friendly staff and great food. Even ordered a whole salmon to be picked up in two days.

Came to California hoping to enjoy some fresh seafood; after a few disappointments, this place was everything I'd hoped for. Great décor and ambience; even the plastic cutlery and foil-covered paper plate were not detractors. The fish and shellfish are SO fresh they almost swim. Washington oysters were sweet and cold. A panko-breaded and grilled calamari steak (tender and tasty)... More

For years El Pescador was located across the street in a tiny cramped box next to Mitch's surf shop. There was a small counter for the fish market and only a few seats so most locals like us took a plate to go, wrapped in tinfoil, and brought it down to the beach to eat while wave watching. We were... More

Went to El Pescadores in La Jolla for lunch. I had shrimp tacos with slaw. Hubby had clam chowder and salmon burger. Everything was fresh and delicious, fun atmosphere and friendly service. We'll go again for sure.

This is probably the best seafood place around. The food is all very fresh, and the food is not too salty. The people there are very nice, and there is also many choices of fish you can choose from. It is the best seafood place ever.

We ate here one night while visiting our son. I wanted some fresh, local seafood and we definitely found it here. You place your order at the front counter-you can check out the seafood case there to see what fish you want. Beer or wine is available, and the food is brought to you when ready. Very fresh, healthy, simply... More

This is an unusual place as it is half fish market and half restaurant. Every sort of fish you can think of and cooked to order. You order at the counter and it is served to you. We went back for another evening as we enjoyed it.

This new location is clean, spacious palace of seafood. The presentation is clean and simple, the portions very large, the food beautifully and simply prepared. The prices reflect the freshness and care they take with their seafood. Slightly expensive, but worth it.

Nice light dinner at El Pescador tonight. The oyster appetizer was very fresh! I enjoyed the Dungeness crab sandwich. The shrimp tacos are also pretty good.

You know when it's met your expectations and better, when after you have eaten there, you want to come back the next day. Menu is extensive, with much variety in choice of fish, shrimp, crab, and method it is served. So many delicious choices. Love cafeteria style ordering, love high seat and chairs. Price reasonable for what you get.
