Set in a charming, cozy cabin (Note outside on arrival, delightful, carved wood creatures) this gourmet gem delivered an evening of dining delights. Waitstaff was welcoming and thoroughly knowledgeable in courses for the evening & the excellent selection of wines offered. Appetizers-a variety of taste tempting offerings: Asian Potstickers, in fabulous ginger infused broth (save bread to dip), Escargot in complimentary sauce under a golden Puff Pastry shared but next time we want our own. Petite Caesar Salads, tasty, a perfect size for dinner to come but sadly not the “classic”, flavorful recipe expected. “Compliments of the Chef” was rich Ginger Carrot Soup served wonderfully hot. Entres: every offering from the Lamb Shank & Elk Chop to lightly Panko crusted Sea Bass was beautifully prepared & presented with a marvelous, crisply sautéed “vegetable variety”.
Dessert...Yes please! Easily shared “mile high” Flourless Chocolate Cake and the rich Vanilla Ice Cream w/ Berry Sauce were very good; but it was the warm, comfort food, apple cinnamon Bread Pudding and Lemon (curd?) topped Cheesecake that were “fabulous” hits!
NOTE: Despite dining early New Years Eve and a “full” evening of RSVPs, dinner moved along smoothly & unhurried...”BRAVO” to all the Staff! 😘

Charlie Soule is an amazing chef. We had a dinner for 14 people at The Soule Domain and everything from the appetizer to the desserts was perfect. The quality of the cuisine is equal to any other high-end restaurant you have ever visited, but the prices at The Soule Domain are extremely reasonable. Treat yourself to a wonderful culinary experience when you are in North Lake Tahoe and visit The Soule Domain - you won’t be disappointed.

Our group of 9 was in town for a wedding at Martis Camp, and we were looking for a fun spot to eat in the days leading up to the event. We discovered Soule Domaine on this app, and it exceeded everyone’s expectations. Steve was awesome, the food was interesting and served hot. There were four off menu specials that evening and they all sounded great making it hard to choose. I went with the scallops with pork belly...the jalapeño infused sauce was outstanding and made the dish a one of a kind item. In summary, this is the place to go for a quality dining experience. Please note, they only serve beer/wine...at very reasonable prices I might add.

Having just moved to Lake Tahoe, friends recommended Soule Domain for our anniversary dinner; I called and booked two weeks in advance for our celebration. An hour before the reservation, I received a call saying that the restaurant had been booked at the last minute for a large party so we would be seated outdoors. Having no other option, we went to the restaurant to find that the outdoor patio was essentially a couple of tables next to a fence, street and restaurant parking - nothing attractive or welcoming about the setting. Space heaters made the cool evening bearable but nothing about the experience was acceptable. I understand that for a small business, the opportunity to serve a large party is important but management should recognize the other customers who they let down, and who, in all likelihood will never return.

I apologize that you were not happy with your table, however it was not a last minute booking that pushed you outside…this weekend was quite warm, I’ll just assume you didn’t like dining outdoors, Sorry

Having Dined at Soule Domain essentially since they opened many Years ago, We have Never had a Bad Meal, some are just better than others. The Service is always Very Good. Our usual Favorite is the Rack of Lamb, but they occasionally change their preparation of this Entree and some are better than others. Charles, the owner/Chef, is innovative and it's worth trying New Offerings on the Menu. His Soups are interesting and Delicious. He Never Over Seasons any Dish.
The Prices are not inexpensive but worth it for this quality of Quisine.
Try them, You Will Like Them.

I had such fond memories of the food here years ago. I can still say that the beer and wine were high quality and reasonably priced. We also love the owners and the servers. I give them credit for having vegan options. allowing dogs outside and the beautiful setting. However, we would not recommend the Thai curry scallops, the organic mix greens tossed in Asian Shoyu ginger vinaigrette, the noodle bowl, the vegan udon noodle bowl or the shrimp entrée.

My wife and I have dined here on numerous occasions during multiple trips to North Tahoe. Last year in July we were seated outside near the front door and had our first waiter completely disappear to wait on one of his regular tables then the replacement waitress disappeared on multiple occasions. The food when we could get it was good, but the service was absolutely terrible. I even had to walk into the restaurant to try and find a waiter to retrieve our bill. Unfortunately, I decided to give it one more chance on our upcoming trip this month. I immediately noticed the message during booking "Minimum charge of $60 per diner will be implemented for all tables between June 16 – September 30" There are too many terrific restaurants to go to in Tahoe to justify settling for this type of extreme arrogance. We would have undoubtedly spent more than that for our group of four but their sheer audacity screams "we don't need your business". I would strongly suggest tourists avoid this spot and let them survive on their local business.

I'm sorry you didn't understand our $60 minimum policy for summer, we were trying to maximize our small dining room for our busy season, we turn away as many people as we seat in the summer, and we encourage customers who want to dine with us, not the split an entree and an iced tea please , and $60 person is not even that much considering costs these days, and I wasn't even playing hardball on the minimum with customers who tried to understand........ I don't feel it was an arrogant policy, and not exactly a successful one either, but we tried it as a business decision

Our party of 6 plus an infant celebrated my father’s birthday here tonight- and we’re sure glad we did.
We were a bit uneasy about coming since ours was an outdoor reservation and Tahoe was suddenly experiencing some rain and thunder. But upon arrival felt much at ease. The seating area was lovely, shielded, and warm due to a heat lamp.
Steve was our server and very much a pro. Great service throughout the evening. The food came speedily as well.
Our kids enjoyed the pasta with cheese.
The bread was great, and corn soup yummy.
Lobster wontons were very tasty. The vegan noodle dish received high praise, as did the Opah with spicy sauce. I absolutely loved the filet mignon with pepper sauce.
Chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert was a crowd pleaser.
Definitely now up there with our favorite restaurants that we’ll remember fondly.
Of course not everyone will agree on food…but this experience was such an A+ that frankly anyone giving this restaurant less than 5 stars has lost some credibility in my book.
Thank you for such a memorable meal. Perfect birthday evening.

The food, service and ambiance were extraordinary.
The complimentary soup was, as always, enjoyable.
The Scallop special appetizer, shared with my wife, was very flavorful and tender. I personally enjoy cooking and serving scallops and I was envious.
Our entrees of the Swordfish special and Filet Mignon were special treats. I am a lifelong Swordfish lover but this dish was very different as the swordfish was not firm and melted in my mouth.
While the prices are not cheap, the serving sizes are very generous.
Soule Domain is a great choice for a special meal experience.
Steve is a thoughtful and knowledgeable server who is very helpful but not intrusive.

Covid-19 aside - They are taking extra precautions for our safety and Thanks for that.
It was our anniversary again and the service and the food was amazing. We started with a glass of bubbles to go with the red wine braised escargot. We shared 2 meals - swordfish prepared in a fruit miso coulis and duck breast in a great fruit sauce. Both dishes were amazing with our Cirq Pinot we brought.

What a way to cap off our 11 night stay in the Tahoe area. It was the best meal of our trip. The service, atmosphere and food were all stupendous. We were concerned about dining outside given the smoke from the fires but fortunately for us the winds helped and we got to enjoy this highlight meal without that interference. We really enjoyed everything about this experience and feel lucky to have found this place.

It took over an hour to get our entrees after the apps were delivered. When we’d mentioned it to the manager he gave us attitude and seemed more inconvenienced and annoyed we’d even think of complaining. There are too many excellent restaurants to go to in Tahoe than deal with such failure and sheer disregard for a customer’s point of view. We were abandoned so instead of getting defensive and dismissive just own it! Show some accountability! They’re so egocentric they feel they don’t need your business. We’d never recommend this place - it was by far THE worst dining experience we’d ever had! Oh and the food isn’t that great so the service has better be stellar which it wasn’t!

Dear Karla- well at least you swindled your way to a free meal for 3, we can only apologize so many times, and that wasn't enough for you, poor you, sitting in the garden in July waiting for your entree's.... we try to make our customers happy and when we fail we take it personally, so obviously you don't care for our management technique , and for that I can say I'm sorry

The outside setting and our server was just lovely when we saw her - but the food went from sad to terrible. The wonton came in a dishwater colored broth with a sauce that did not hang together The other appetizers were completely unimpressive. The main courses were VERY disappointing. Our friends scallops were over cooked, the pasta was gluggy, - a sign the cream sauce had not been freshly made. But the worst was my husbands steak. It was supposed to be rare to medium rare snd was grey, very well done and difficult to cut. His potato’s were definitely old and very hard. He should have returned it but The servers had disappeared supposedly for a large party indoors. My husband often went precious for business because it is one of the few restaurants open in Tuesday within the area - but never again.

If you can, make the journey up the hill to The Soule Domain. It is owned by long time Lake Tahoe residents who treat their cuisine as if it were art. There is also a great wine selection that adds to the experience of a great date night location.

I was taken aback by how good the food was — I wasn’t expecting it. Balanced, well seasoned, perfectly cooked. I felt like I was dining at a friend’s house — the kind of cheffy friend who brings their own knives when cooking in someone else’s kitchen, yet there was nothing pretentious about anything at Soule Domaine. Thank you for the real and slow food on a cold night. I will definitely return. And I beg the owner to please release the ginger snap cookie recipe. I didn’t even know I liked ginger snaps!
