First of all, forget the pictures. The government has razed all Otres 2 beach facilities and upgraded the beach road to concrete. That aside, This is a restaurant review! After three years of missing this gem despite staying at another property a two-minute walk away,...we finally ate here, and enjoyed it so much that we returned for four more dinners and a lunch! I stuck by design to the “Khmer menu” and was generally well rewarded. I particularly enjoyed the Khmer sour soup (with seafood), the spicy beef salad (almost Thai “yam nuea”), and the “pat ka poa”. Don’t know how authentic it was, but it was different from the do-called Khmer offerings in most restaurants. Staff English varies, obviously, but sufficed. The only real problem was the problem paying on the last night; nobody knew how to operate the credit-card machine, and they lacked sufficient change to accept $25.00 for a $21.50 check. I would go back in an instant, and if I return to Otres next year (questionable), I will consider booking the hotel so I am on-site.More

We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Ren Restaurant with an atmospheric setting on the beach. Friendly, helpful staff recommended items from the menu- best cocktail yet and somewhat different to the usual is Reach Mojito as it has a good hit of chilli. Also very...much enjoyed the delicious dishes from the Khmer section of the menu with their fresh depth of flavours.More

We asked politely if we could eat breakfast although we weren’t guest on the hotel. Then the staff told us that it costs 7 dollar per person all included. We thought great, but when we were finished we had to pay 29 dollar instead of...14. The food wasn’t that great either. Not fresh juice, dry toast and acidic coffee.More

We ate lunch and dinner at the Ren Restaurant. The menu is not exhaustive by any stretch of the imagination, but the food served was fresh, plentiful and at reasonable prices... The location right on the beach made it an ideal place to consume a...refreshing cocktail or two.More

This is a similarly tough situation for many places in this area now, with tens of thousands of workers, cooks, and servers being hired by the humongous construction conglomerates in and around Sihanoukville. There was only one waiter here, a very knowledgeable and professional one,...but everything took time. Then the dishes were finally served and were interesting to say the least. The Spicy Beef Salad was a small serving of delicious and fragrant vegetables topped with lovely looking VERY dry and chewy beef slices. The seafood chowder was a handful of veggies and a little bit of seafood heated in heavy cream without incorporation or balance of flavors. The fried Squid "with salad" was the best dish but served with a tiny serving of shredded veggies.More

We stopped here for a soup and sandwich. Location is great, seats are comfy and staff are friendly. The pumpkin soup was nice and tasted fresh. The tuna sandwich was fine, although not very exciting- which is exactly what we wanted and needed. All in all...a fine visit for a quick lunch.More

Big fan of Ren Restaurant on Otres 2. We ate there a few times (including the special Christmas menu) and the food was always excellent and served with a smile. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The manager is a very charming guy who...clearly loves what he does - this positive energy is felt in all the waiters.More

We were staying next door at Tamu and popped in for lunch, we were made very welcome by Mr Reach and have a lovely Khmer lunch. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced along with the drinks and cocktails. As a result we had...dinner there every evening for the rest of our stay on Otres Beach. Each time Mr Reach was very warm and welcoming and went out of his way to chat with us and ensure we had a pleasant evening, we had some lovely meals. All the staff were happy and welcoming but special thanks to Mr Reach.More

We visited for dinner and had one of the best meals we had during our stay in Cambodia. We were looked after by Mr. Reach who was a lovely guy and made our evening even better by talking to us about life in Cambodia! We...visited again the next day for lunch, it was a bit disappointing that we were not allowed to use the sunbeds even though we were paying customers.More

This is one of the three or four “high end” beachfront restaurants in Otres 2. And we tried them all. It was unquestionably the best. For lunch we had pumpkin soup, stir fried minced pork and spicy deep fried squid. All were both beautifully presented...and delicious. The minced pork was like larb but there was also kaffir lime leaf and more red chilli than you normally see in restaurants which cater to westerners. It was outstanding. The fried calamari had the lightest, crispiest coating with pepper seeds in it. It too was wonderful. At dinner we had the scallop appetizer. This consisted of six lightly cooked scallops, each in a Chinese soup spoon, covered with XO sauce which is a famous Cantonese sauce made of dried scallops, dried shrimp and chilies. It was excellent. We also had the spaghetti arrabiata which was very good. The only disappointment was their deep fried fish in sweet and sour sauce. The sauce was very good; however, the fish was cubes of a firm fleshed fish which, if deep fried, showed no evidence of batter and, so, lacked the richness which one normally expects from this dish. Overall, there seemed to be a particularly competent chef in the kitchen and I would strongly recommend it. Prices were as ridiculously low as every other restaurant on the beach.More

I am reviewing the restaurant desperately to the hotel (different review). I had high expectations, because of the hotel. I ate there 4 times, each time hoping the others were a glitch, but sadly not! First meal.. Steak baguette with homemade fries. The steak was...grissly and tough and the baguette tasted like yesterday's stale bread, just toasted, the fries were frozen, crinkle cut fries, undercooked and mushy. I left the meal and said it wasn't nice to the staff, but they didn't understand and just took my plate. 2nd meal, breakfast, bacon and beans, barely warm and the toast took longer in the toaster than it did for me to eat my breakfast, then it came only toasted one side. 3rd meal, late on I thought I would give the fries another chance at redemption, I asked them to cook for longer, they did, but still frozen crinkle cut not homemade, and quite tasteless. I left most of the bowl. Last chance, my final day, I thought I would try the Asian specialities, maybe they were better, but sadly not, the meat tasted refried from the day before, amongst other issues. Tip to Ren: look at other nearby beach restaurants, why are they busy and you are not? There is no atmosphere or music and the food is bad. C'mon guys, step it up, you are letting the hotel down. I ended up eating at other places during my stay there.More
