We've eaten at Tips both for dinner and their once-a-month Tips Test Kitchen - - all outstanding. The topper was last night, while "sheltered in place" at home and at a loss for what to cook for dinner, we decided to try Tips home delivery....Ordered two fried chicken, wedge salad and mushrooms - - all delivered hot and delicious. Even though they said it would take an hour to prepare and deliver, the owner's wife, Susie, showed up in 35 minutes. Great food and great customer service from a delightful restaurant in Kenwood, just south of Santa Rosa and north of Sonoma.More
A relaxing, low key restaurant with a great comfort food menu. Try the Polenta fries...to die for!.., .the tomato bisque soup with toasted Sage on top, the tri tip appetizer with 3 sauces and even the crispy, grilled brussel sprouts are all delicious!
I took my son around 4pm. Happy hour. I have not tried Breakfast or dinner here. And I was driving so didn't have cocktails. I ordered everything on the happy hour menu and 3 sandwiches. Tri tip sando was cubed not sliced and med. Well...to well done. If there was any chipotle on there I couldn't taste it. Tater tots and beignets are awesome. Tomato soup was great. Pass on all the sandos. Amazing coffee. Ambience was cozy. Need some music. A little quiet. Nice staff. Great place for snacks and cocktail with a friend. Will go back for beignets and coffee. Not much elseMore
Tips is a great place for casual, farm fresh dining. Brunch until 2, then happy hour and later dinner. Tried all three and never disappointed
We came here as a group of 6 and found the experience to be fairly mediocre. Our server was unenthusiastic, and the food just ok. My salad was bland and halfway through I found a piece of paper in it?? (at closer inspection revealed a...big chunk of paper towel). Gnocci was cold and apps greasy.More
Excuse me if I can't find the right words, but tonight was beyond awesome! My very first test kitchen taste testing with Flanagan winery and TIPS roadside executive chef, Tony. So I felt so close to fame with the owner of TIPS roadside, and the...founder and CEO of Flanagan winery, Eric, and rubbed shoulders with the Flanagan estate winery director, Isabella. There was a prefixed menu with each part of the menu and an sample wine paired as seen below in the pictures. My tastebuds like others were doing figure eight circles and then some with sparks of spice. Smelling the nose of each rosette wine. When I say rosette is also in my book, sampling. They do this once a month. Bringing in a local winery and pairing it with an ever rotating sample menu. The highlights of the entire evening was the steelhead patte with copious amounts crostini bread alices. And the Flanagan family white chardonnay. Yummy! The next dish was an baby octopus salad. If you are like me, I ate everything except the baby octopus. Anything that includes the killing of baby animals no matter what, it really bothers me. There was frizzia garnishing nuts with a light vinaigrette. The third dish was lamb with sliced onions and cilantro and garlic bits. This was cooked to perfection! And again I don't like lamb for obvious reasons but, this was a nice pairing with an Flanagan winery red as stated in the menu. Very good. Finally the dessert was the icing on the cake, but it was not cake! wait for it....a mascarpone cheese cooked with a soft special lemon butter cream with to accentuate the flavors of the cheese. Sooooooooo good! Nicely done and perfectly paired with the Flanagan family red zinfandel. So fun! So delicious! Pretty expensive, but a fabulous culinary cuisine experience! Get tickets ahead. No kids are allowed. State allergies ahead when calling for the reservations.More
I had expected good barbeque at Tips, but was amazed at the varied selection offered. I had the trout and I must say it was the best fish I have had in Sonoma in years. I recommend it highly and am anxious to go back...and try the rest of the menu. Thanks to Tony, the chef for a great experience.More
This restaurant was great, came in with a group of 12 with no reservation on Saturday, no issues at all. Great food and excellent + friendly service!
This was a good place to grab dinner when everyone was just a little hungry for dinner. We all tried the trip tips and fried Brussel sprouts. We enjoyed the dipping sauces for both. We also ordered the Beignets. They should really tell you that...you are getting 6. And they also are not the traditonal NOLA square beignets, they are more like a fluffy circular eclair pastry dough. They were light, fluffy and okay. We also appreciated the cocktail menu after drinking wine all day.More
