This was a good place to grab dinner when everyone was just a little hungry for dinner. We all tried the trip tips and fried Brussel sprouts. We enjoyed the dipping sauces for both. We also ordered the Beignets. They should really tell you that you are getting 6. And they also are not the traditonal NOLA square beignets, they are more like a fluffy circular eclair pastry dough. They were light, fluffy and okay. We also appreciated the cocktail menu after drinking wine all day.

Excuse me if I can't find the right words, but tonight was beyond awesome! My very first test kitchen taste testing with Flanagan winery and TIPS roadside executive chef, Tony. So I felt so close to fame with the owner of TIPS roadside, and the founder and CEO of Flanagan winery, Eric, and rubbed shoulders with the Flanagan estate winery director, Isabella. There was a prefixed menu with each part of the menu and an sample wine paired as seen below in the pictures. My tastebuds like others were doing figure eight circles and then some with sparks of spice. Smelling the nose of each rosette wine. When I say rosette is also in my book, sampling. They do this once a month. Bringing in a local winery and pairing it with an ever rotating sample menu. The highlights of the entire evening was the steelhead patte with copious amounts crostini bread alices. And the Flanagan family white chardonnay. Yummy! The next dish was an baby octopus salad. If you are like me, I ate everything except the baby octopus. Anything that includes the killing of baby animals no matter what, it really bothers me. There was frizzia garnishing nuts with a light vinaigrette. The third dish was lamb with sliced onions and cilantro and garlic bits. This was cooked to perfection! And again I don't like lamb for obvious reasons but, this was a nice pairing with an Flanagan winery red as stated in the menu. Very good. Finally the dessert was the icing on the cake, but it was not cake! wait for it....a mascarpone cheese cooked with a soft special lemon butter cream with to accentuate the flavors of the cheese. Sooooooooo good! Nicely done and perfectly paired with the Flanagan family red zinfandel. So fun! So delicious! Pretty expensive, but a fabulous culinary cuisine experience! Get tickets ahead. No kids are allowed. State allergies ahead when calling for the reservations.

Very chill atmosphere with spacious outside, mostly covered/shaded seating. Very interesting menu! Husband got fried chicken with apple slaw on biscuit (he would’ve liked more chicken and less biscuit, but all 3 components very good!). I had shrimp and grits. Good potions, very flavorful, perfectly cooked shrimp! Would’ve been better to have more greens on top. But really cannot complain. Their house made beers are excellent! I got a taste of 3 (blonde, IPA, red ale); husband got a pint of red ale. I really enjoyed them all! Nice servers! Definitely recommended!

We were abandoned by the wait staff after receiving our water. My mixed drink was poorly made using cheap mixer. When I received my tips plate it was lacking seasoning , tended towards toughness, alltogether lacking any appeal whatsoever. If it were possible to leave a zero star review I would have. As I read this review to my wife she commented "wow, well they deserved it" although she liker her food (crab louie salad)

Asked to go here with another couple for my birthday. My, was I disappointed! Waitpersons now wear whatever they want, hard to identify. Brought the soups at the same time with the entrees, no courses, how do you eat 2 things so nothing ends up cold? The Trixies Fried chicken is now breaded, not the crunchy delight that it once was. Was it frozen and just deep fried? Who knows? My ribeye was SO over-salted, I should have sent it back, and I like salt! Overall I was embarrassed to have recommended this place to my friends, and we won’t be returning.

A relaxing, low key restaurant with a great comfort food menu. Try the Polenta fries...to die for!.., .the tomato bisque soup with toasted Sage on top, the tri tip appetizer with 3 sauces and even the crispy, grilled brussel sprouts are all delicious!

Kenwood local here. I placed a to-go order of their Roadside salad with fried chicken, and an order of brussels sprouts. When I got the food home, I discovered that there was no chicken in the salad. The salad itself looked to have been made many hours prior, with browned and wilted leaves and part of an oxidized avocado. The brussels sprouts were so greasy that oil was actually dripping out of the *bottom* of the paper box -- they were inedible and went straight into the compost. I called the restaurant to let them know that they'd forgotten the chicken in my order, and the woman who answered the phone seemed utterly bewildered about how to respond or address the issue, saying only that her manager had left and that she had no idea what to do. I asked for a refund and she said she couldn't provide one as her manager had left. Never again, Tips. What a godawful mistake.

We came here as a group of 6 and found the experience to be fairly mediocre. Our server was unenthusiastic, and the food just ok. My salad was bland and halfway through I found a piece of paper in it?? (at closer inspection revealed a big chunk of paper towel). Gnocci was cold and apps greasy.

My family of four ate dinner here. My 11 year old son got the kids tri tip and size of the meal was great! He even had some leftovers. The rest of us shared the tri tip bites, Mac & cheese, buttermilk biscuits and taster tots. Everything was delicious! We can’t wait yo go back and try some other dishes

The 5 dot rating is because this place is a cut above its genre. We had lunch on a weekday and ordered the reuben sandwich and the cobb salad. Both were more interesting versions of the standard. The Cobb had butter lettuce instead of romaine and smoked cherry tomatoes instead of regular ones (you could taste the smoked aspect). The house made bacon was really good (like lardons) and the goat cheese was a tasty change from bleu cheese. The reuben had a flavorful house smoked pastrami, chipotle aioli instead of thousand island dressing, white cheddar instead of swiss. It all worked very well and was a nice change from the usual. We also had a cup of the daily soup, which was a delicious tomato basil. Reasonable prices and good service. Would definitely return to see what other twists on roadside favorites they might have.

I took my son around 4pm. Happy hour. I have not tried Breakfast or dinner here. And I was driving so didn't have cocktails. I ordered everything on the happy hour menu and 3 sandwiches. Tri tip sando was cubed not sliced and med. Well to well done. If there was any chipotle on there I couldn't taste it. Tater tots and beignets are awesome. Tomato soup was great. Pass on all the sandos. Amazing coffee. Ambience was cozy. Need some music. A little quiet. Nice staff. Great place for snacks and cocktail with a friend. Will go back for beignets and coffee. Not much else

Highly recommended. The outdoor dining is a great setting for great food. My wife said the butter leaf salad (added tri tip) was the best salad she's ever had. The brisket sandwich was excellent. The beignets fresh mad and perfect. Brandon was busy seeming to serve and bus every table. Definitely worth a visit.

I had expected good barbeque at Tips, but was amazed at the varied selection offered. I had the trout and I must say it was the best fish I have had in Sonoma in years. I recommend it highly and am anxious to go back and try the rest of the menu. Thanks to Tony, the chef for a great experience.

Tips Roadside was just down the road from the VRBO were we stayed. It could not have been a more pleasant experience. The food was amazing! There was a one man band playing in the background and this quaint little place me us very, very happy. Even though we were there on vacation, it is definitely worth the trip. We loved our experience here

Really disappointed in the lunch. Chicken took up less than half of the square English muffin. So many other better places to eat in the area.
