We came upon this place by chance while having a California coast adventure and stopped to eat. The ribs were the best I've ever had in my life.

We had dinner in Alexander's during our stay at the Inn. The uneven (if friendly) service at dinner was not what you expect in a fine dining room with prices to match. The dirty martinis we ordered took a solid 15 minutes to arrive with the server explaining the bar had run out of the vodka we asked for and... More

On a random exploration trip from our Christnas holiday cabin in the Redwood forests near Cazadero, we stopped at Alexander's for a mid-afternoon meal. Outside a lull in the rains was ending with a hail storm about to unleash. Inside we found refuge from the storm and some very good culinary fare as well, accompanied by a good California Chenin... Drove for 2 hrs in the thick December fog to get to this place that looked so good in pictures. Ok fine, it is my fault to be stubborn to drive there despite realizing I won't have the views due to fog. I was hoping at least we will have a decent dinner. The waitress was awesome. And that's about... More

The food is good. The wait staff was great. The floor to ceiling windows make the sunset view from the dining room fantastic.

We had a stay here for one night. The menu was quite limited, I don't eat meat but despite that the options were few. I was glad we were only here for one night. We both ate salmon on black rice, which turned out to be a dish I could have cooked at home with a blindfold on and without... More

We had high expectations for Alexander's based on what we read in the lobby and on the TCI website about their famous, phenomenal chef and long-standing stellar reputation. Maybe we just came on a bad week, but 4 experiences (2 dinners, 1 lunch, 1 drinks @bar) over 2 days added up to a major disappointment. Despite a few employees who... More

Fish and Fries good at lunch, Clam Chowder okay. Dinner: Pork Chop, delicious but too rare in middle, Butternut Squash Ravioli rated at 3 1/2 out of 5.

Food was mediocre. We ordered the mussels as a starter and they were highly fishy and we returned them. We ordered the tomatoe mozarrella salad, looked like a kid prepared it. For main courses the halibut and rib-eye - the halibut was not overcooked, which was good but the food was very bland. Drinks + gelato were the only part... More

The new full-service restaurant, Coast Kitchen, will offer seasonal fare with clean, crisp presentations in a casually elegant setting overlooking the breathtaking coastal views. Executive Chef Phillip Kaufman's seafood centric, farm-to-table menu of small plates will showcase the famed cuisine of the area and will be paired with local, boutique style wines. A full bar will feature a selection of mezcal and tequila-based cocktails, as well as offer a complete spirits program. Locally sourced ingredients from area farmers, cheese mongers, fishermen, mushroom foragers and other producers will be featured wherever possible in dishes such as Sonoma duck presented two ways and a charcuterie appetizer that features California cheeses. With 15 local wineries nearby, the wine menu will focus on dynamic organic wines by the glass, flights, and a selection of bottles and reserves that focus on natural simplicity and quality labels.
