Good food but nothing exceptional and very high prices. Bottle prices for wine were frankly, outrageous! I think they are taking advantage of the hotel guests because there is nothing else close by so not a lot of options unless you want to drive to...Jenner.More

We visited on a Thursday night and ordered the New York strip steak. It was overcooked, cut into small slices (approx 1/8 lb total) and served over a few soggy fingerling potatoes. The texture of the meat was stringy and there was no manager around...to explain how disappointing our $200 meal was. I never write bad reviews as I know how hard it can be for restaurants to survive, but, this place is the exception. Save your money and dine elsewhere.More

Unique approach to dinner dishes. Very friendly staff including the bartenders who had a good feel for all the libations options. Great view and casual. Kudos to the sauce and desert chefs! We wandered the bluff on which this lodge and restaurant are located. It's...a very dramatic location and inviting hotel. Wish we could have stayed here and probably will some day.More

My wife and I stayed at the River's End Inn and Restuarnt but the restuarant is not open Wed and Thur so we drove to the Coast Kitchen for dinner. Even though both places are officially in Jenner, it took about 20-30 minutes to drive...to the Coast Kitchen. It is a one lane highway with lots of curves. Upon arrival we were seated right away (we have reservations). We did not have a table by the window but we still had a great view of the ocean and the sunset. My wife had a salad to start and I tried the salmon wings. Both were great with special emphasis on the wings! My wife ordered the pork chop and she was very pleased. I had the trout and it was outstanding. We shared the berry cobbler with ice cream for dessert; a great finish.More

I enjoyed the Coast Burger and loved that I could customize it with bacon and avocado. The mashed potatoes are a must try! Blackened Mahi Mahi was perfectly prepared. The wine selection was exceptional, however, the cocktails were lacking a bit.

I had lunch here while I waited for my room to be ready at the resort. Walked in to a restaurant with maybe 9 tables total, due to covid, and a sign that said “take a seat” but all of the available tables needed to...be bussed. So I sat down at a dirty table and waited and waited and waited and eventually someone came and cleaned the table and then eventually someone took my order. To say this restaurant is under staffed is a gross understatement. The poor servers. I ordered shrimp sliders, they were pretty good. The service was terrible but not the servers fault. They were running. The atmosphere was stressed out servers and dirty unbiased tables with a nice view. No thanks. When I read about this restaurant online, I couldn’t wait to try it. But sadly it was disappointing. The view is nice but it was way too windy to sit outside. Had room service from them the next day and it was pretty good. But again, they can’t deliver what they advertise because they are so shockingly under staffed. Maybe in normal times this place is nice. But not right now. Also, the poor servers!More

So I’m not sure if the dining room was stripped due to Covid or if it always looks like this but it looks like you’re dining in a school cafeteria - basically no ambience whatsoever, just tables on a bare floor in a room. Probably...would be less noticeable if there was a view, but alas, it was a foggy night so no relief there. Turning to food, the Caesar salad was fine (I know, my fault for ordering a Caesar but it was her birthday and that’s what she wanted), no better or worse than any other you’ve ever had. On to the mains - she had the seafood cassoulet for $29; 5 mussels, a couple of medium shrimp, a few pieces of calamari and a mountain of beans covered in breadcrumbs. Way overpriced for the dish, which for that price should have been awash in seafood. I had the steelhead trout which was the star of the evening - nice portion, cooked perfectly with cracking skin. Delicious. Was served over toasted couscous with zucchini and cippoline onions, all of which were both overcooked and under seasoned. Lastly, they have a phenomenal wine list (with phenomenal mark ups to match), which was great but, again, great wines in Denny’s ambiance is jarring. All said, for $200 for two (including tip) I expect a really good meal at a nice place and, unfortunately, this wasn’t that.More

We visited on Valentine's weekend and dined for 2 breakfasts and the prix fixe V-day dinner with wine pairing. Food was great and we were very pleased at the social distancing efforts that the restaurant had gone to in order to make everyone feel safe....Yes, the food is a little pricey, but in keeping with other excellent restaurants. Flavors are just perfect. No salt or pepper on the tables (pandemic) but they weren't needed. Just really delicious food and friendly helpful servers. Lots of staff, so there was never a wait for anything. Wine pairing with the dinner was excellent and we met several wines that we will definitely look up again. Overall, a big hit with us! Oh and one more thing: they agreed to broil my oysters, which made me very happy!More

If you see my other reviews I only write up spots that I think are notable. This spot fits that description. My friend and I decided to spend the day hiking on the coast and stopped by the restaurant afterwards. It was during the limited...outside only dining allowances due to Covid-19 restrictions. Despite the limitations we found the restaurant fully staffed and very helpful and pleasant. The layout is beautiful with great views (there are great spots with benches and one with a fire pit to watch for whales). Parking was ample even with spaces for EV charging. Overall we found our lunches to be delicious, fair priced, and an excellent staff when most of the Bay Area was on a partial shutdown. Highly recommend!!More

Since COVID, we have been going on an adventure every weekend, because we can't travel. We usually go to the coast, Sonoma or Napa. I book ahead to make sure that the restaurant is open for patio seating. We have had excellent food and service...during this difficult time, until now. I ordered the fish soup, it was not even filled to the top of the line in the bowl, I gave it back to the hostess and asked her to have the chef fill it. She brought it back filled but, informed me that was their normal portion, mistake! When I did taste it, it was very average. My husband had the fish and chips, two little pieces of fish, for the prices they are charging you would think that they would be more generous. I read all of the reviews before we went, I am sorry to say that we would not recommend this place to anyone unless you just wanted to go for a drink and enjoy the beautiful view, but the view was not enough for us.More
