Our restaurant offers a unique dining experience that's just like eating at home with family and friends. The "Shake, Rattle, and Roll" of the trains passing by on the train tracks behind us is also something you'll never forget!

Owned by a family, great stuffed peppers and the food is excellent. Friendly staff. If there is a negative the restaurant has limited seating and because of its popularity you might have to wait to be seated. But we have been there with family and friends and the wait is worth while.

Ordered enchiladas with rice and beans. Something was missing in the flavor of the sauce. Small bowl of chips and salsa for four people. In a strip mall, not much atmosphere.

Every time we visit Palm Springs, we have to make a visit to El Mexicali Cafe. The stuffed yellow peppers, stuffed with shrimp seasoned nicely, are served with lemon wedges, and are dipped in mayo and drizzled with soy sauce. AMAZING!!!! I know, it sounds crazy but they are to die for. The guacamole is also special, just wish I... More

Little hole in the wall with authentic Mexican food. Their shrimp & pepper appetizers are to die for. Anything on the menu is great, I think we've tried it all. Our favorite little spot on our annual trip to Indio. Breakfast is very good too.

Full service menu with combo of mex and seafood mex. Had two burritos, one steal the other carne adovado verde. Both tasty. Retired beans and rice tasteless. Service was good, and a good bit of spice in the salsa. Place shook as the trains went by. Certainly a "homer" kind of place...lots of locals.

Located in what seems to be a parking lot beside the train tracks you would not expect much from this very small restaurant....but you would be VERY wrong! Frequented by what seems to be a lot of locals, this little piece of Mexico is a must stop if you're in the neighborhood. The staff are friendly & welcoming & the... More

Generous servings from friendly staff. I had chili verde with masses of fatless, juicy, tender pork cubes served with rice and lightly spiced beans. No room for flan, darn. My spouse had combo #3 which included his favorite chili relleno. He's very particular about rellenos and El Mexicali met his standards which is rare. The place is small so get... More

This place is small and can be very noisy. It has been here for years and is the original site of a chain of 3 restaurants. All are good but the original is the one that all my Hispanic friends frequent. I find all three have really good food and are well worth the visit. The parking is not great... More
