This is an really great restaurant with great service right outside the "centre" of Idyllwild. Situated in a cosy "house" with great staff to help you out. Very tasty food and local beer.

This wonderful restaurant has been an Idyllwild hot spot long before we began visiting the town and is still going strong. There is no better rustic, outdoorsy environment than the lovely Cafe Aroma patio. The owner, Hubert, is the town raconteur. If he stops at your table to chat you up and you manage to engage him in a lively... More

We have been here before. This time the food quality was mediocre at best. Service was really nice. Waiter Ben, could not have been more charming. The setting is easy and peaceful. Disappointing food this time around. Would not rush to eat here again.

Nice place with lots of options. Food was decent. My daughter had the salmon and loved it. Hubby and I both had pasta and they were average. My gnocchi was tough, but decent. They did a nice job in bringing lots of tasty bread and keeping waters filled. The cannolli for desert and carrot cake were both good. Ambiance was... More

While staying in Idyllwild met some friends here for dinner. Had a great evening out on the patio, service, food and patio were fantastic. Had been here for brunch and lunch and enjoyed that as well. Will come back.

4th time and the food was fantastic. We did not have reservations and were seated in a room that was pretty warm. Fans would have helped.

Everything was top notch. We recommend sitting on the patio where we found this to be peaceful. The only problem that we ran into was the reservation. We called in for a 6PM reservation the day before the the event and then reconfirmed the day of the event.. When we arrived they could not locate the reservation. Despite this they... More

A very popular restaurant, parking was a challenge even on a Monday night. We didn't have reservations but we probably should have since the place was full even early on a weekday. Nice layout and good service. I had the seared duck salad which was just delicious. They include a selection of breads and a dish of garlic olive oil.... More

It is a nice place, if you like loud music/ But anyway - there is always "action" there. Bi plates of salads, steaks. You may want to ask to sit at the library's part - a bit more private. Nice service. No full bar - only wines and beers. But - as the Pine Woods resort told us - it... More

Description
TripAdvisor's #1 Rated Restaurant in Idyllwild for 2014 Working in tandem with amazing culinary talent, some of which have gone on to The Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park, NY and Le Cordon Bleu, the Aroma kitchen team uses classic recipes infused with unique, original ingredients, to create beautiful dishes with French, Nuevo Latino, Asian and SoCal influences. Cafe Aroma proudly supports our local farmers, wineries and brewers and features fresh, organic, and sustainable products, along with vegetarian and gluten free options. A unique bistro-gallery experience, featuring some of Idyllwild's most well-known and accomplished artists, featured in two-month, rotating exhibits. Idyllwild's hippest and funkiest dining establishment, Cafe Aroma is the hot spot on "The Hill." Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner, along with great snacks and desserts and an assortment of bottled micro-brews and local, artisan wines, indoors or out, on our free Wi-Fi enabled patio deck, the inspiration of Cafe Aroma's "accidental owner" for the last 12 years, Hubert Halkin. Hubert's list of deeds is long, including being an Idyllwild resident for many years, Professor Emeritus and Department Chair of Mathematics at UCSD, a mean bridge player, and all around groovy Frenchman. Not to mention...You won't believe what he can demonstrate table-side with a straw and your Osso Bucco bone! Music is one of the cafe's cornerstones, and features an amazing array of talented musicians, known locally, regionally and nationally. It's no wonder that, among musicians, Cafe Aroma's outdoor stage is known as the Madison Square Garden of Idyllwild! The community of Idyllwild is an eclectic collection of souls, comprised of entrepreneurs, artists of every flavor, hipsters and church-goers, authors and meditators, some really cool, old school jazz cats, and a few belly dancers and ballerinas. Cafe Aroma is the gathering place for everyone, the place to "see and be seen" and features the most dog-friendly patio around. Restaurant, Art Gallery, Social Club and a Home Away From Home...If your home was this cool!
