4th time and the food was fantastic. We did not have reservations and were seated in a room that was pretty warm. Fans would have helped.

Everything was top notch. We recommend sitting on the patio where we found this to be peaceful. The only problem that we ran into was the reservation. We called in for a 6PM reservation the day before the the event and then reconfirmed the day of the event.. When we arrived they could not locate the reservation. Despite this they... More

A very popular restaurant, parking was a challenge even on a Monday night. We didn't have reservations but we probably should have since the place was full even early on a weekday. Nice layout and good service. I had the seared duck salad which was just delicious. They include a selection of breads and a dish of garlic olive oil.... More

It is a nice place, if you like loud music/ But anyway - there is always "action" there. Bi plates of salads, steaks. You may want to ask to sit at the library's part - a bit more private. Nice service. No full bar - only wines and beers. But - as the Pine Woods resort told us - it... More

I'm italian and it was the best food out side of my grandmas. Romantic, intimate and yummy! The pizza oven is a great idea outside and the band in the midst of the giant trees> You have to eat and experience this place.

The food here is delicious but very pricey. Bring your food for your other meals and treat yourself here. It's well worth the price.

This is a favorite breakfast spot of ours. Patio dining is popular so reservations are suggested depending on the time of year. During the winter we opt for inside. The scones are buttery and flavorful...some of the best I have had. The fresh fruit is an excellent choice to go along with the scone. The fruit plate is generous and... More

Sat on spacious patio on recent Monday night. They had live entertainment, which was nice. Not too loud unless you were seated in front of band and next to speakers, which I would not recommend. My portobello mushroom ravioli were incredible, and my wife wife thoroughly enjoyed the sausage lasagna. Portions were large, and prices reasonable compared to most other... More

I've been coming to Cafe Aroma for years, whenever I make a trip up to Idyllwild. Unfortunately, the last two times I came for dinner, the service was weak. We waited at our table a long time before our waitperson first came over to our table. This was on a Saturday night, and there were only maybe 3 or 4... More

Went two days in a row, would look forward to going back again. Had the prosciutto & penne & eggs (without the penne--don't ask)...their hashed Browns are a mashed brown, mashed potatoes with sour cream & garlic & grilled on both sides...tasty. My husband had an osso bucco omelette with avocado that he LOVED. The service was a little shoddy...both... More

Description
TripAdvisor's #1 Rated Restaurant in Idyllwild for 2014 Working in tandem with amazing culinary talent, some of which have gone on to The Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park, NY and Le Cordon Bleu, the Aroma kitchen team uses classic recipes infused with unique, original ingredients, to create beautiful dishes with French, Nuevo Latino, Asian and SoCal influences. Cafe Aroma proudly supports our local farmers, wineries and brewers and features fresh, organic, and sustainable products, along with vegetarian and gluten free options. A unique bistro-gallery experience, featuring some of Idyllwild's most well-known and accomplished artists, featured in two-month, rotating exhibits. Idyllwild's hippest and funkiest dining establishment, Cafe Aroma is the hot spot on "The Hill." Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner, along with great snacks and desserts and an assortment of bottled micro-brews and local, artisan wines, indoors or out, on our free Wi-Fi enabled patio deck, the inspiration of Cafe Aroma's "accidental owner" for the last 12 years, Hubert Halkin. Hubert's list of deeds is long, including being an Idyllwild resident for many years, Professor Emeritus and Department Chair of Mathematics at UCSD, a mean bridge player, and all around groovy Frenchman. Not to mention...You won't believe what he can demonstrate table-side with a straw and your Osso Bucco bone! Music is one of the cafe's cornerstones, and features an amazing array of talented musicians, known locally, regionally and nationally. It's no wonder that, among musicians, Cafe Aroma's outdoor stage is known as the Madison Square Garden of Idyllwild! The community of Idyllwild is an eclectic collection of souls, comprised of entrepreneurs, artists of every flavor, hipsters and church-goers, authors and meditators, some really cool, old school jazz cats, and a few belly dancers and ballerinas. Cafe Aroma is the gathering place for everyone, the place to "see and be seen" and features the most dog-friendly patio around. Restaurant, Art Gallery, Social Club and a Home Away From Home...If your home was this cool!
