This place has a great breakfast. Some of the fluffiest pancakes I've ever had. Good coffee, rich and flavorful bacon. Always busy, which is kind of a drawback.

Unfortunately there are only a handful of Original Pancake Houses that are still serve very good and “original” breakfast meals. This location has gone downhill. We’ve eaten here several times in the last few years and it is not the same. The thick bacon is now thin paper and burnt by the time it hits your table. And our favorite apple pancake is much much smaller and lacking apples! I know times are hard and restaurants try “cutting” corners, but you would think that the increase in pricing would make up for it, but NO, not the case.

Frequented by locals, warm, welcoming environment and very delicious pancakes. I won't be able to go back very often as I live on the other side of the world, but I recommend it to anyone who visits HB.

On a visit to Balboa we came directly from the airport to the original pancake house. We were not disappointed. It was the best breakfast bar none, coast to coast, we’ve ever had. Incredible omelettes, so fluffy and tall and yummy. I’ve been here before on a weekend when the waitAs long. On this visit we were seated immediately. Excellent service to match the food.

The food was amazing! We did have to wait about 30 mins on a Sunday morning. Once we were seated we were promptly greeted. I had the chocolate chip pancakes and my sister ordered an egg breakfast. The food came out fast and it was delicious. I will dream about those pancakes. The portions are huge and the wait was worth it.

Great breakfast choice. The Omelets are the fluffiest that I have ever had and are the size of a dinner plate and then they throw in three buttermilk pancakes. I had the breakfast and did not need to eat again until dinner, I went with a basic cheese omelets but my wife had a mushroom omelet that had an interesting sherry sauce with it that was very good. We would recommend this to anyone and eat there again on a future trip to the area. We ate there on a weekday. There was no wait when we arrived but people were waiting for a table when we left. My local daughter says that the wait can be very long for a table on a weekend.

Staying in this area for a few weeks, we like to try out the local fare, and this was an excellent choice and breakfast, along with great service by Ely!!! I had the corned beef hash ( the best ever) and my wife had the apple crepe, which was incredible!!!! If you are in the area, we highly recommend you give them a try!!!!

It was a random visit and was really surprised by the long queue, we waited for more than an hour to be seated, you'll need to take this into consideration, especially during weekends and holidays. The food was amazing, portions are huge! Service was great, waiters welcome you with a big morning smile. We almost ordered everything, the star was the Veggie Omelet, Coconut Pancake and the Pecan Waffle. We couldn't take much photos as we enjoyed the food :) attached photo is credit @Google. Highly recommended for breakfast or brunch when at Huntington Beach.

Not just a “pancake house”! Huge selection from pancakes to waffles to omelets to hash. Homemade hash is fabulous! Huge portions and great prices! We were visiting a friend and it was one of her go-to places, and there’s no wonder why!

If you and your family and friends want pancakes you can't go wrong with this place. Depending on morning time of the day of the week expect a wait to get seated. I had the Pumpkin Pancakes and that surprised me as pumpkin is usually a seasonal item. You will go out full and still may have some left over for a to-go box. Didn't have the omelet but someone at our table and it was HUGE. Biggest omelet I have ever seen. Took a bit and it was good. So, looks like not only pancakes are good so is the omelets.

Well was hit or miss for me. I had some great fresh strawberry pancakes with fresh whipped cream but I won’t be visiting again after having raw pancakes three times in a row on last visits. They simply run their griddle too hot this why the pancakes look so dark and thus don’t give enough cook time. Sorry but if you can’t cook the one product perfectly that’s in the name of the company you don’t deserve my business And cmon it’s pancakes!! How difficult is it!? Need a new cook or new equipment here.
