A pleasant bakery, but not what one would find in France. We ordered a pecan tart that was mostly crust, and an apple tart. Both tarts were too large and heavy, not French at all.

All the reviews make this place seem like a must, but I will say that it's a maybe. I had an omelette, and my girlfriend had a breakfast sandwich, because they were out of croissants somehow, in spite of being a French bakery. Everything we...ordered was fine, but not that great. Oakville Grocery is WAY better for breakfast and coffee than this place. Again, it's not bad, but it's average. I don't understand how people could give it a 5.More
Say to #$&*# with the calories & get a treat from Costeauxs. When my car is remotely near Healdsburg I swing by this bakery. Yes, you will struggle to find parking; but then you remember what awaits you when you do. The baked goods are...simply at a higher taste level than other bakeries. The sticky morning bun - in its golden paper is a treat to behold. The Florentine roll is filled with a light chocolate/caramel type buttercream & is worth blowing your cholesterol count on. Seriously, every human should have a chance to eat one of these. A pale, white icebox cookie - nothing fancy looking called to me. I ate it quicker than my plan of "eat a bite here & there" it was just gone! Anything from the pastry counter will bring joy. Their breads please as well. Guests coming to visit - go to CFB's for breakfast offerings. In-laws coming - provide a plate of goodies and win them over. A star or two should be taken away for counter help. It is possible to stand in front of an employee & not have your existence acknowledged. I've seen people walk out after feeling invisible. I've had an employee slowly count up receipts while two of us were waiting to pay with no rush to help and no offering of "it will just be a minute, etc." We were simply ignored. The fact we both still stood there and didn't walk out speaks to how much we wanted our baked goods. Bottom line - do not run into CFB if you are in a hurry. I suspect this goes for the dining area as well.More
Turkey cranberry was delicious and enough for two people to split so you have room for sweets. Just had the OMG cookie and it was a cross between a lace cookie and a cannoli with a lighter filling. Will be back.
Late lunch of salad nicoise, and tuna melt. Both dishes were excellent, service was attentive but not intrusive. Bought takeaway pastries for dessert. Excellent meal!
We had brunch which was well prepared, one had an omelet the other bacon and eggs. Somewhat on the expensive side. In downtown area close to shopping.
The shortbread cookies are some of the best I have ever had. It is a must stop if you like cookies. The rest of the items are good, but the cookies are the only reason I go.
When we are in Healdsburg we make it a point to stop by to get their pull apart bread or like today having lunch too. They have a pretty good menu to choose from, you won’t be disappointed. We had the French dip and the duck...sandwich. Both were cooked to perfection!! Seating is at your choice either outside(heating lamps to keep patrons warm) or inside. This bakery has been always busy and today was no exception. The waitress was pleasant and came to our table often to see how we were doing. We will be back!!! Thank you to your Sterling team; bakers, cooks and servers. You all make happen!!!More
Was looking for a cheese plate for lunch. This time of year lunch options are limited. There were several options on this menu no cheese but great lunch/ brunch options.
This place is legendary, and my husband and I found out why! On our recent mini-getaway to Sonoma, we ate there twice, because we couldn't get enough! The first day we just had pastries and coffee. The pastries are decadent and delicious! They are definitely...not your typical coffee shop pastries! We loved the place so much, we skipped a free breakfast the next day just so we could go back to Costeaux! We had a tasty breakfast, some rich and wonderful cappuccinos, and we ordered a box of pastries to go. The service is awesome, with friendly staff who are there to help and please the patrons. We also got there before they had put away the hundreds of nutcrackers they display during the holiday season. If you are in Healdsburg near Christmas, make sure to check out their dazzling collection of nutcrackers! These were a bonus, since we were already enamored with Costeaux. If we ever head back to Healdsburg, or even just drive by, we will stop to get the best French pastries I've had outside of France!More
