This family owned restaurant has been around for years. Their specialty is the best tasting Carnitas in town, maybe even in the South Bay.

We went for dinner and can't say we really enjoyed our meal. I ordered a ground beef enchilada and shredded beef taco and my husband ordered the two tacos (shredded beef) combo plate. The food was tasteless so we will not return to this restaurant...even though it is a very clean place and the service was prompt and friendly.More

I have been visiting this restaurant for over 30 years and This will be my last time. The last few times I've been here, have been less then the very good food I've had in the past. I had shredded beef and eggs, rice and...beans. I could see the light of my plague in between the rice and beans. In other words, the servings were very skimpy. I have never had this happen in any other Mexican restaurant, or here for that matter. My food was OK. Just OK. But there was a smell in the restaurant that was horrid. It smelled like rancid, mildew, stagnant water. It permeated the whole restaurant so that eating there was not pleasant at all. Rauls lost a long-term customer this morning.More

I don't know why this place is never crowded. They have the best Mexican food around. they always have specials, their prices are very reasonable and they have alcohol. We eat lunch there almost every week and every dish they serve is delicious. The staff...is very friendly and service is usually fast. The homemade albondigas soup is definitely the best around.More

I had shredded beef and eggs, rice and beans, and tortillas. The portions were huge and it was relatively tasty. However I remember it being better in the past. For instance, the beef and eggs had more onions, tomatoes, and peppers in the past. Additionally,...I recall more cheese on the beans. The service was friendly and attentive. I would go back.More

My husbands family loves this place. In my opinion. I don't like the service and the food is less than par for me. I really wouldn't recommend it.

Any place that can survive for almost 50 years has got to ge doing something right. Pretty good mexican food. Good salsa and hearty portions. The burritos are huge. Shredded beef is tender and tasty. They have beer and wine and Menudo some days to...cure that bad hangover. If you find yourself in Hawthorne and are craving mexican, i can recommend Raul's.More

Having been coming here for 10 years, there is no better Mexican food than Raul's. Best chips and hot salsa. Been trying to replicate it for so long! I always get the shredded beef taco and shredded beef enchilada with rice and beans. Seriously the...best! Also have had the chicken nachos which were delicious too.More

I had the best eperience when it comes to service provided, thanks to the great team at this small local restaurant. It's Dec 24th, working late, no time to consider what is diner going to be, I received a call from my wife, close to...2pm , asking me, telling me, that we are having her Mother and sisters join us for a Holiday meal and there is nothing to prepare in the fridge. Naturally, I told her, I got this. Just to realize at 3:30pm that i completely had forgotten, and pizza seemed inevitable. I was a dead man walking, lucky for me, Siri provided this restaurant as one of my options for catering in the area, called, explained my dilema, and got, not only a delicious solution, but and experience worth relating. I am not sure if this name is correct, Jo , she allowed me to text her to her personal number a order and ran with it. neadless to say, she save my neck and made me look good in the process, I believe they were ready to close, yet allowed me to order their delicious shredded beef and chicken, and the best salsa in town, I made it just in time to make it look as if we acually cooked. My suegra was very compemtative of the taste and quality of the meat and would] not stop telling me how wonderful my salsa is.More

Last weekend I suggested Raul's for dinner to my my husband and friends and it was soooooooooo good. I had...their fish tacos which were fabulous ! My husband had the Carnitas and he could not stop raving about it. Our waitress was super nice and took really good care of us. Will we be back ? That I even know of Raul's Tacos is one of those fortuitous accidents of fate. A long, long time ago they had opened another restaurant on La Tijera Blvd. in Westchester called Los Reyes. Being within walking distance of home, I would go there and...have some of the best enchiladas and tamales. In a matter of mere months it was gone and the space would eventually become a much better-known establishment known as The Townhouse. But fortunately I noticed on Los Reyes' menu that there was a sister establishment in Hawthorne. There I would find the same tasty enchiladas, tamales, and tacos. Lately I've been a little disappointed with the tamales, not as big and fluffy as they used to be, but the food is still a cut above what I find in typical Mexican restaurants, certainly much better than at the chains. The menu is pretty basic, the typical Mexican American border food, but enjoyably prepared. It's a nice little mom & pop place with a friendly staff; not big on atmosphere, just good food.More
