Sometimes you can review an Italian restaurant on its meatballs alone. Mezzaluna does not disappoint. Good flavor, excellent sauce and no late harsh, off flavor. Insalata Mista had fennel on the side that was a treat. A bit too much dressing on the salad. The Lasagna was top notch. Light, flavorful, everything you want/like. The waiter had a little bit of a challenge understanding how I wanted my Lamb Chops cooked - so they came out overdone. Also a bit too salty - which we are encountering more often in red meats, in restaurants, these days. The desserts (Lemon Sorbetto & Salted Carmel Gelato) were out of this world, outstanding. In total, a mixed bag - but still worth going to.

Excellent service,delicious food,friendly atmosphere....what else do you need. We are from the east coast and used to top notch Italian. This restaurant more than holds it own. My wife had eggplant pasta with smoked mozzarella and I had an Italian steak with side of pasta....all well prepared,served hot with a smile and delicious....highly recommended

We enjoyed dinner at this restaurant. Reception staff warmly welcomed us and got us seated promptly.
The menu offers a broad range of foods. Cocktails were well made. We had the beet salad and mixed greens salad to start. Mains were Salmon and lamb chops. Salad ingredients were fresh and crisp with just the right amount of dressing. Dishes were well seasoned, flavorful and not salty. The salmon was moist and cooked perfectly. Lamb chops were tender and juicy. We shared a dessert- Cioccolato. A nice finish to a great meal. Service was friendly and efficient. Staff allowed enough time for us to go over the menu. Timing between meals was not rushed. Staff checked on us throughout dinner. Waters were refilled and dishes cleared. The restaurant has free parking. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. A nice place to unwind and enjoy good food.

We had a fine meal tonight. I had Penne Pastore and the Goddess had Calamari Dore. Both were excellent and we have enough leftover for 2 lunches. Bread was served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar which was a nice touch. No room for dessert but saw a couple go by and they looked good

Disappointing especially given the positive reviews. Our food was average at best. One of the things I often do in a new Italian restaurant is to order pasta with a pomadore sauce. Any good Italian restaurant should be able to do that right. Not this time. My wife had a pasta dish that was also average, the shrimp was good but the spaghetti and sauce was not remarkable. The bread served at the table was ordinary and we had to ask for olive oil. Though not terribly expensive we did not think the meal was a good value. On a positive note, the service was good. All in all, I do not plan to return.

Our pomodoro sauce is made from scratch, as is our homemade ciabatta bread. We also make many of our pasta but not spaghetti. We are happy you enjoyed the service.

Sat outside in their newly organized patio, with bright red umbrellas and well-spaced seating. The service was terrific, as was the care of the staff who came out to gently move us to a further away table once a huge famly group showed up near us - no need to even ask! But it's the food you come for - excellent, fresh, local vegetables, spanking fresh fish, and terrific game hen. OMG there's the dessert: I had pumpkin ice cream with white chocolate cheesecake (nap afterward was required!)

Arrived in Half Moon Bay from SFO international at just after 8pm and asked the hotel receptionist where my wife and I could have dinner nearby. She recommended Meza Luna but they closed at 8.30 pm, so she called the restaurant to ask if we could dine there, to which the answer was yes as long as it was by 8.30. We dropped of our bags and immediately walked to the restaurant arriving at 8.28pm. The lady on the reception desk told us they were closed. When I mentioned the phone call, her only reply was that we had to be sat down and ordered our food by 8.30. I told her we'd just flown in after an 11 hour flight but it was obvious from her attitude that she couldn't have cared less. She had no idea of what customer service means. We left and went to a bar across the road who couldn't have been more accommodating. Best avoided if that's the attitude.

A bit disappointed in this highly regarded venue. We were a couple celebrating a birthday and were seated in the nondescript large room with several large parties. A very good special appetizer of smoked swordfish and tuna carpaccio was followed by an undersauced and underdone pasta. My companion had the very good petrale. Wine pours seemed cheap in motel class glasses. We won’t go back soon.

We had a beautiful lunch here on a Tuesday. The location allowed us to view the water. They focus on Italian dishes. The specials included a seafood mixed grille for two which we greatly enjoyed, with salmon, sea bass, scallops, and prawns. The homemade gelato and sorbet were excellent, as was the biscotti with espresso. Brandon, our server, guided us through the menu and helped us pair wines from their nice selection.

I have been here a few times before- it was nice to see they are still dishing out great plates. Caesar salad was nice. Fresh Salmon was really great. Homemade lasanga- large plate and delicious.
Service was also nice and attentive.
Most of the wines are Italian- and only a few CA wine choices.
Overall a nice experience.
$ 200 for two with bottle wine and tip.

This felt like a locals place. The service was excellent , the food even better. Bartender Sacramento was very friendly while we were having a drink before dinner. I ordered the Chicken Saltimbocca which had a sauce that was just heavenly! My husband had a Calamari steak which he said was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back on our next trip.

Had a very nice lunch with the family. Restaurant is very warm and welcoming. Service was excellent as were all the dishes we ordered. The caesar salad was absolutely fresh with just a hint of anchovies in the dressing. The clam chowder soup was full of fresh clams with just a few potatoes. The Linguine with clams was probably the best I've had. Overall, just a nice lunch beginning to end.

Wonderful dinner. Arrived late after a busy day, they were very accommodating, very attentive and nice. A grandma, daughter and granddaughter who were tired and hungry. They couldn't have been nicer. Food was excellent. Gnocchi, pesto and alfredo were all fresh, homemade, hot and yummy. Thank you!

Mezza Luna helped us to host an incredible event! We worked with them for our 30 person engagement party, which was held in their small banquet room. Danette, the event manager is so wonderful to work with - she responds very promptly and helped to organize so many details - from the personalized menus, table layouts and even suggesting an amazing florist. The food is wonderful, and very great value for how high quality it is. Finally, the ambience and service is truly amazing. Our guests felt like they were transported to Italy for the night.

This time it was my wife's birthday and we went over to Half Moon Bay for dinner and spend the night. Everyone was masked and the tables were well spaced so we were at least a table or more from the next guest. We started with a generous salad which they split for us. For pasta we had the Linguini Medley. LOTS of sea food and well prepared pasta. I was up for lamb chops and they were perfection. A great dinner and a candle for my wife's desert.
