We drove here 7/15/16 for our 3rd day of celebrating Her Ladyship's Birthday. Had reservations, for two and were promptly seated at at lovely window table over looking the beach and ocean as always. While we were being seated I heard some "oohs" and "ahs" from surrounding tables, so I thought they must know who her Ladyship is? WRONG, whales... More

Drove out to half moon from the airport for our first meal. The restaurant is very nice inside with a wood decor, nice bar, tablecloth and napkin server. There is an outside seating area that is heated as well. As some others have stated, it was great to see the whales feeding just off the shore. There is an abundance... More

My family and I decided to stop in here for lunch after a long walk up from Half Moon Bay, and couldn't be happier we did! Dining here is like being in a National Geographic nature film. We sat for an hour and a half watching whales feed in the bay...absolutely amazing! The food is above average (the chowder is... More

Have seafood cold plater, oyster not that great and limited wine selection . Limited parking but provide valet services . We were so lucky to see the whales !!! What a good day to... More

The humpback whales feasting on sardines provided a beautiful show as we enjoyed our dinner at this wonderful beach - side restaurant. The miramar oysters as well as the raw ones were the plumpest and yummiest we had during our week long trip to the west coast. We highly recommend the miramar chowder as well as the cheesy artichoke hearts!... More

My wife and I stopped here for lunch today. We were seated by a window giving us a fantastic ocean view (whales swimming by). My wife had fish tacos, which she said were excellent and I had fish & chips which were also way above average. Our server was pleasant, attentive, and helpful.

This is an excellent spot to walk to with the dogs for gazing at the fiery sunset or marveling at the gray whales migrating 10,000 miles from the Bering Sea to the Baja calving lagoons. Perched at the entrance to Miramar Beach, the eatery features an outdoor terrace with benches and fire pits as well as a huge indoor space.... More

My husband and I visited this restaurant the first night we were in Half Moon Bay. It was a quick walk from our hotel, and we were pleased to be seated at a table overlooking the ocean. The food was delicious; portions were satisfying without being too much. Our server was attentive, friendly, and prompt. Our only regret is that... More

I was staying in San Francisco on a business trip. A friend from Russia was at the same meeting and wanted to see the ocean. We came there with no reservation and they fit us in. We both had seafood and it was great. Large portions and tasty. most every table has a ocean view. The staff was great.

Here are the reasons why: - beautiful views of the ocean whether you sit inside or out. - service is impeccable and consistent. - We LOVE the seafood ceviche, seafood chowder (MUCH better than Sam's),sandwiches, fish and chips, and cocktails! - dog friendly on patio seating. -Easy to drive to and park from the Central Valley We can't wait to... Description
The Historic Miramar Beach Restaurant & Bar has a long and colorful history going back more than 70 years. It was originally designed and built as a Prohibition speakeasy to serve the liquor smuggled into the Bay Area through a drop off point on Miramar Beach. We have kept the historical ambiance and decor of the 1920s including an incomparable collection of photos from the era. With only a frontage road between us and the beautiful Pacific Ocean, we have the number one view and sunset on the Coast side.
