We had gone here about two years earlier, and it was not good. Being at the beach with the dogs gave us another chance. But the website is wrong. It states that it is only open Thursday-Sunday, but it is open every day of the week. Because we had dogs (one being a 14 month old puppy) we sat on... More

Although we went as couples, this is definitely a good spot for families also. Excellent views, no buildings in front of you. After a nice meal, drinks or just apps - take a stroll along the beach. Sit outside near the gas fire pits in those chilly evening or cozy on up inside. Love this place - would recommend and... More

We got a great window table for two. We glanced at the outside seating, but couldn't get as close to the water. We both got the Halibut Veracruz and they took our special requests - one without jalapeños and one with no rice, extra vegetables. The fish was a bit overdone but still yummy. Sides & dessert were great! I'd... More

The food at the Miramar is reasonably good--you will enjoy anything on their slightly limited menu and the cocktails are good--but I don't go there for the food. The restaurant has two marks of real distinction for me: their outdoor heated and enclosed patio allows for an amazing nature-show right across the street: closeup views of fish, seals, pelicans, porpoises... I eat here often when I come to the Bay Area for business. I don't eat a lot and let's face it, most restaurants serve way too much food for their entrees. The happy hour menu at Miramar is perfect and the seared ahi is a perfect meal...always cooked just right. The service I've found to be hit or miss.... More

This restaurant definitely boasts great views. The food was good, not great. Apparently the clam chowder was awesome, but I didn't have any. They have a nice outdoor space, and the beach is right there. It's a great spot to take in the views and relax

Excellent seafood selection and a range of other dishes, all very fresh and well presented. Well trained, professional staff. Good family restaurant, with all ages catered for. Quite expensive, in an out of the way location, but worth it. Ask for a table with a sea view (although you can see the sea from all tables). Recommended.

Located across the street from the ocean, The Miramar offers great views. Our food was delicious, but the service was very slow and the waiter unattentive.

Great food, great view, a little slow on service if they are busy and our heater didn't work so we had to move to another table. But all in all, we'd go back in a minute. Great fish and chips! and GREAT paella!!!!!!!!

Description
The Historic Miramar Beach Restaurant & Bar has a long and colorful history going back more than 70 years. It was originally designed and built as a Prohibition speakeasy to serve the liquor smuggled into the Bay Area through a drop off point on Miramar Beach. We have kept the historical ambiance and decor of the 1920s including an incomparable collection of photos from the era. With only a frontage road between us and the beautiful Pacific Ocean, we have the number one view and sunset on the Coast side.
