It is just a few feet off the main street. There are seats at the counter, tables along the wall and a few larger tables by the front door. The restaurant serves good food so it can get a little crowded and I would suggest going early. The waiter was very friendly but looked like he was having a difficult time keeping up with all the tables. Our service was very good and the food was delicious. I would recommend this place for anyone that likes sushi in the area.

This cute little place is tucked away on the side of main street
Very friendly and helpful staff. We held a couple different salads, both delicious. We had two sushi rolls, both generous size. Very yummy. Fun place

We stopped in for a late lunch and were immediately charmed by the interior design- very earthy, uniquely crafted and fun. It almost feels like you're in a grotto. The food was great and the staff very helpful and kind. I'd highly recommend it. I know we will be back!

Ordered caterpillar roll which is cooked eel plus raw hamachi.
It came with bloody fish and big bones. Asked for a comp. They said no.
This will be the last time i go here.

Early Tuesday night dinner.
A group of 4 and we all enjoyed it.
Tables and chairs are a bit bizarre..look like something from the Flintstones.
Friendly staff and quick service.

My son and I spent time here eating lunch. We first entered the cool section which is a bar made of driftwood and were quickly moved over to the children section more tame with tables made of slate. Our server was nice but got our bento box order wrong gave us teriyaki chicken instead of chicken cutlet and wanted us to pay extra to fix the order which i have never encountered in a restaurant. The food in the bento box was good. Watch out for the wasabi. We had a ramune soda melon flavor which was interesting. Sushi was surprisingly ok, it lacked in taste...we got tropical roll and spicy salmon. We ended with green tea icecream which was exactly like tea not our fav.

Our friends took us here at we were amazed by how good everything was, regardless of what we ordereded! Staff was superfriendly and the place is very nice too, with some very old wooden tables and chairs. Definitely a hidden gem for someone not living in Half Moon Bay!

We often pop in here for lunch and the fare has drastically improved in recent months, very fresh and flavorful, from the rolls to the soup and salads. My only complaint is they are completely inflexible about the menu unlike most sushi restaurants I frequent. For example, I wanted to order the sushi lunch special and change out eel for my favorite yellow-tail. The waitress had to go check with the chef who said "NO" despite the fact I offered to pay more for it. Kind of lame, but otherwise, a sure bet for local sushi and much better than the option on Main Street.

I have been going to this small, beautifully decorated jewel of a Japanese restaurant for many years. The decor was hand picked and brought from Indonesia and Bali. The tables are made of large pieces of slate. It is intimate in surroundings which allows one to be intimate with their freshly prepared food. The Sushi is fresh and delicious. There are some dishes that I have never seen anywhere else such as Kimiyaki. Seafood prepared and baked in a large shell and covered in a great sauce. Can’t miss with this addictivfve feast. They have everything and more. So don’t miss this treat!

It was walking distance from our B&B. I had the basics, maguro, rice, miso and salad. all Meh. My wife had a roll which was okay but also felt the salad was meh. There has to be better sushi places on the SM Coast.

We stopped in Half Moon Bay on our way to Carmel for a quick lunch and happened to park right in front of this little gem. We stuck our heads inside the door and the Sushi Chef looked up, smiled and invited us in to sit at either the bar or a table. The decor of the place is amazing with wood carvings and driftwood, unique stick sculpted ceiling covers, etc... We took a seat at a table (with pillows to sit on) and were warmly greeted. The Sushi was beautiful and so delicious, and for a lunch on a chilly afternoon the service was warm and friendly. The Bento Box is filling and the choices are numerous. Check out their Saki menu - unbelievable!

I enjoy this restaurant every time I dine here so I decided to write a good review. I like everything about this place: the artistic asian décor, the tasteful but not too loud jazz in the background, the friendly waitstaff, and mostly the wide selection of delicious Japanese dishes. I am a huge fan of unagi (eel) and always order it. My husband likes the salmon and other fish dishes. They have a good wine selection and the owner is always busy preparing sushi and other delicacies behind the bar.

We entered the restaurant without a reservation and we were warmly welcomed even if there was only bar seating available. After 5 minutes we realised how lucky we were to be at the bar as we could watch the two Sushi preparation artists at work.
It was so interesting to see the dexterity and attention to detail while we waited for our order.
Once served we were absolutely astonished by the fresh and tasty quality of the meals.
We enjoyed an evening of culinary delight and were astonished when we received the bill. Just over $50 for one of the best meals we have ever had.
Sushi main Street is an incredible restauant !
