Big Bottom Market changed names. Now called Piknik Town Market with new owners. In the past when it was Big Bottom Market for me was the place to go for lunch. Always tasty and good value. Had a sandwich that had way too much mayonnaise....Their chunky chicken salad sandwich that I loved is no longer on the menu. Seems the menu in the past is now all changed. So although I had one experience I'd hesitate to recommend.More

I don't normally do a review on a place where I had a grab-n-go item...but therein lies the problem: I didn't know that it was grab-n-go. This bougey little place is one of 2 joints to get breakfast midweek in Guerneville. I looked at the...menu and thought that Biscuits & Gravy (however overpriced) would be good after a late night. When I ordered, I said 'For here' because I was going to take home one of the specialty biscuits. She said, 'Everything is to-go.' 🤔 Against my better judgment I didn't mention the specialty biscuit, and I chose B&G. It should have been the other way around. Here are the problems: 1) It came deconstructed. See photo. So, I forwent crumbling the bacon on top. 2) B&G really needs a real plate, not a to-go box. 3) The biscuit was sweet! Like a British scone sweet. Not good for B&G. Actually, awful! 4) The gravy was thin, like milk, not like gravy for B&G. This REALLY requires a real plate, not a box. 5) The gravy instantly made the biscuit a soggy mess. 6) The flavor of the gravy was overpowered by the sweetness of the biscuit. No balance. The bacon was nice. $3 for 3 pieces is definitely a bargain these days. The staff were recent high school grads who were completely disinterested in customer service. The cook was quick, so I didn't wait long. Overall...I wish I had gone to the coffee shop for a bagel. But at least I now know.More

So glad we stopped in. Service was friendly and efficient and the food and drink excellent. Highly recommend the artichoke and hummus sandwich and the fresh brewed ice tea. Definitely need to try the biscuits. Delicious and only $1

Dropped by here for lunch, but since there main thing is making biscuits (they even have their own biscuit cookbook), getting one seemed like a necessity. They're different every day, but today's was green apple, cinnamon, & coriander. Yes, it was as good as it...sounds. It was AMAZING! I had the Chickpea salad for lunch which was GREAT, and ample. My husband had a bowl of soup, which wasn't huge, and was good. (Today's soup was vegetable beef.) Might try the place for breakfast, which might be another review.More

Quaint do drop in for coffee of your choosing. We waited 5 minutes after we ordered but it was so good. They give you a post card to fill out and mail to your favorite person, fill it out and they mail it for free.

We went for the biscuits and just kinda thought..."hmmmmm". They were good but not fantastic. The market was not clean: cobwebs, dusty, just odd that such a well-reviewed place presented so poorly. Good and friendly service.

This is a must when visiting Guerneville. The sandwiches are delicious with a great variety for non-meat eaters.

We are from the south - so it takes an amazing biscuit to impress us - and we were amazed! We enjoyed the BLT and the Sneaky - both were divine. And they serve with greens so you feel like you are eating at least...something healthy! Yum - don’t miss!More

It's a good thing I don't live nearby or I would most definitely have a biscuit eating problem. Every time we have the chance to get up this way, we have to stop at Big Bottom. I always recommend it to friends who are visiting...the area. The ham + cheddar is definitely a favorite!More

Stopped in for lunch on a lovely day. We had a dog with us so we sat at a sidewalk table, but we noticed one couple with a fairly large dog went inside and sat at the counter table in one of the windows. You...order at the deli counter, and staff was very kind. Traffic was steady but the place was not full; it seemed to take a long time to get our sandwiches. They were worth the wait. We had Cubanos, an interesting grilled cheese with garlic aioli, and a Parson Jones (name related to nearby redwood forrest). Their menu is available online, by the way. We also had a Mediterranean salad which was FANTASTIC. Lunch for 4 with a beer and a mineral water = $70+. Would go again.More

We loved our sandwiches, the one with arugula and proscuito is delish, but we had to wait more than 20 minutes for it and we were almost the only ones in the place. I would hate to see it when its crowded.

Such a quaint little town we ran into this little market place. The Biscuits caught me eye as I am a lover of biscuits. I had the Colonel Armstrong which was curried Chicken with raisins, cashews, apples with garlic aioli on this amazing brioche bun....Too bad they were out of biscuits. We also had the Sea Biscuit with Salmon, crème fraiche and capers on a Brioche since they were out of biscuits. And lastly, the Garlic herb roasted turkey, Harvarti, aioli on a French roll. We had some potato salad on the side and greens. The sandwiches were all so fresh and delicious. The bread was homemade there and melt in your mouth. We all sat there indulging on the delicious flavors. Loved this little market. Definetely a place to go back to and stock up on biscuits because they sell out fast.More

Was passing through and needed something for lunch. What a great find this place was. I loved that the menu wasn’t complicated but was mostly sandwiches and salad with a daily soup. The sandwiches we had were fantastic. Great pesto and fresh fillings and a...lovely side salad. Staff were very friendly and also gave great recommendations on where to go around the town. We didn’t find the prices too expensive as others had mentioned. The tip thing mentioned was an in built machine thing and your could choose whatever amount you wanted and there was no pressure to do anything. The market is nice and casual with a small section as well selling local wines and other little food type things. Very tasty. All in all a wonderful experience and I’d go back tomorrow.More
